We’re well and truly in the swing of the travel industry’s event season and it was a pleasure to attend HM Magazine’s #AHICE Aotearoa this week! Our Managing Director, Rod Munro alongside our #Development Team including Shellia Chang and Shaishav Mehta attended the event to connect with hotel owners and operators, investors and developers to showcase the growing #BWH brand. Joining fellow panelists on the AHICE stage with a wine in hand, Rod discussed trends in operations and industry expectations while Shellia deliberated the growth of hotel franchising in #NewZealand in the years ahead. With a global portfolio of over 4,300 hotels and 18 brands in 100 countries, BWH Hotels is poised to strengthen its presence and market position in the region, focusing on expanding both HMA and franchise business across BWH’s core and emerging brands. At our Annual Conference last month, hosted in tropical North Queensland, we had the pleasure of presenting a Business Travel Panel sharing their expertise on the shift in business travel preferences and the direction of the industry. Leanne Stocks hosted Todd Basham of Corporate Travel Management (CTM) AU/NZ, Kellie White from Corporate Travel Management (CTM) AU/NZ Government and Mike Evans from Amadeus on stage to gain their insight into the way the travel industry is working to embrace the future of technology and the ways in which we can work more efficiently with OTA’s. In collaboration with some of our sector’s key stakeholders in the corporate, government and technology space, our panellists shared valuable thoughts, key takeaways and laughable moments on ways to make travel work better. It was a pleasure to be joined at this year’s Annual Conference by individuals from key organisations to share with our hotel owner and operator attendees firsthand ways the industry is evolving based on major events, corporate travel and trends in government. Thank you to Todd, Kellie and Mike for attending our annual event in Cairns this year! Your knowledge and expertise were invaluable for all attendees. #BWHHotels #AnnualConference #2024BWHConference #BusinessTravelPanel #professionaldevelopment

It was a pleasure to attend, exhibit and have the team speak at this year’s NoVacancy Hotel + Accommodation Industry Expo! We enjoyed connecting with hotel owners and operators alongside industry suppliers as we forge new relationships and connect with familiar faces. Our very own Leanne Stocks and Kristy Edwards joined panelists on stage sharing their invaluable visions across a range of topics including workplace culture and well-being, revenue and distribution and commercial strategies. As an exhibitor at this year’s event, the team enjoyed meeting and speaking to attendees to showcase our newest hotels including Best Western Adelaide Airport alongside City Oasis Inn Townsville, SureStay Collection and Executive Residency Woolloongabba opening later this year. We’re ready for a bumper 2025 as our pipeline continues to grow and new hotels join our brand. Thank you NoVacancy for a productive and innovative event! #NoVacancy24 #industryevent #BWHHotels #BestWestern #branddevelopment

Our Annual Conference may be in the rearview mirror, as our incredible hotel owners and operators, supportive partners, dedicated industry colleagues and BWH family have returned to their daily duties, but there’s one event we can’t stop thinking about: the Masked Singer performance! Taking place in tropical #Cairns, for this year’s conference we thought we’d surprise our attendees with a musical performance from some of our very own BWH network. Inspired by reality singing TV series, The Masked Singer, BWH’s Ron Pohl and Rod Munro were joined by Stamford Hotels and Resorts’ Jeremy Harding and Suresh Subramaniam of U Hotel Group hitting the stage in masked costumes. Performing fan favourites at the closing Award’s Dinner, attendees competed to guess the masked singers’ identities and provide a raft of entertainment showcasing their musical talents. It was the perfect ending to a fun-filled two days of professional development and celebration of our valued hoteliers and invaluable partners as attendees took to the dance floor ahead of wrapping up our 2024 Annual Conference. Bravo to Ron, Rod, Jeremy and Suresh for putting on an exceptional show! We can’t wait to see what surprises next year brings. #BWHHotels #AnnualConference #2024BWHConference #MaskedSinger

R U OK? Today marks R U OK? day – with the mission to inspire and empower everyone to meaningfully connect with the people around them and start a conversation with those in their world who may be struggling with life. With so much time spent at work, it’s so important to create an environment in the workplace where these connections can be made. At BWH Hotels Australasia today, we had the pleasure of having Julie-Anne Whitfield from R U OK take some time today to present to us a background of the roots of this organisation, how to best have these types of conversations with someone who is potentially suffering, key contacts and resources and how to continue focusing on mental health year-round (not just today). It’s a great opportunity to connect our entire team including remote staff and engage with each other in a meaningful way. #BWHHotels #RUOk? Resources are available here > https://bit.ly/47ERcqZ
