Last week our teams in Western Australia were able to enjoy the OzHarvest Cooking for a Cause experience for the first time! We have been partnering with OzHarvest for the last four years, so this was a special opportunity for our Perth based employees to connect with each other, and donate half a day to prep, chop, cook and package nearly 60 meals for the community’s most vulnerable. Expertly led by OzHarvest’s Chef, Bec, the team made Mushroom Ragu Gnocchi from scratch - a first for all of our enthusiastic amateur chefs! Thank you to our Canon and Canon Business Services ANZ teams, Rico Gunawan, Wee-Leng Chia, Anthony Porter, Jeanick Saupin, Racquel Benge, Dinesh Fernando, Diego Beltran, Shona Ranade and Chantelle Banbury - and of course, we couldn't forget our honourary Canon Business Agent, Graeme Ogden who embodied our Kyosei philosophy of living and working together for the common good, through this community day.   #CanonOceania #CanonKyosei #OzHarvest

It was great to handover our Canon Oceania Grant Prize to our 2024 Community category winner, The Reconnect Project at their Penshurst location! Kylie Church, General Manager Corporate Communications, Avril Ford, Corporate Counsel, and Alex Maguire, Corporate Communications Coordinator from our Canon team loved meeting the employees behind the project, and being able to see these pre-loved phones being repaired knowing that they will go to people in need was an incredible experience. They were also joined by Network 10 news reporter, Daniel Doody, who interviewed Annette Brodie, Founder and CEO of The Reconnect Project about her incredible work and her employees who repair phones that are then supplied to refugee centres, women’s shelters, and youth outreach programs for the Channel 10 local news, which is due to air this week! Through the Canon Oceania Grant program, The Reconnect Project received an EOS R10 Single Kit and an RFS Lens 18-150mm lens, which they will use to film interactive training materials as part of their training program to people in regional and remote areas, growing their network of qualified tech repairers. What is The Reconnect Project?  It’s a social enterprise that’s mission is to give pre-owned mobile device a new life by providing them to people in need. With a tech repairing training program designed to empower neurodivergent young people with practical skills in mobile phone repair, retail operations, and customer service, they have since March 2020 distributed 2,920 devices to vulnerable communities.    #CanonOceaniaGrants #CanonAustralia #CanonKyosei
