🤩 As we shared on Tuesday, our very own Dr Jarrod Koh has been recognised as the Overall Winner in this year's David Malin Awards up against the world's best astral photographers! Jarrod also received an Honourable Mention for 'C/2020 V2 (ZFT) Nearing NGC 300' (image 2) and won the Deep Sky category with 📷 'The Cosmic Bat Nebula - LDN 43'. In their remarks for the category win, the judges said: “This perfectly framed small, dark and remarkably dramatic nebula, showed technical excellence and nuance that impressed all the judges. The technically difficult narrow field showcased pristine star profiles with accurate and natural colour. A well-deserved winner!” We're all so delighted for you, Jarrod. Our teams cater for most types of emergency cases, including cardiac, respiratory, neurological, neurosurgical, gastrointestinal issues, orthopaedic conditions, sports injuries and a range of other medical and surgical conditions. You will notice the restful, calm environment from the moment you arrive, and can expect to be treated with respect and compassion by our highly trained doctors and supporting nurses. Our Adelaide and Hobart teams are caring for many people this evening, with live estimated wait times currently at 60+ minutes at both locations. At the Buderim Private Hospital Emergency Centre on the Sunshine Coast, it is a different story, with just a four-minute estimated wait. Regardless of location, every person that our highly trained emergency team looks after is treated with empathy and compassion. And, overall, our estimated wait times are lower than what you could experience elsewhere.

We sure are a multi-talented team at Care 24-7. 🏓 Last weekend, three of our executive team competed at the National Veterans Table Tennis Championships in Tasmania, taking out top honours in each of their age divisions and netting five gold and three silver medals between them! 🥇🥈 Our Managing Director Dr Sharad Pandit won the over 60 male player category, Sarah Sandley took out the over 60 female player division and Paul Langley won the over 50 male player section! Sarah is Care 24-7’s Strategy, Innovation and Marketing Director and Paul is our General Manager – Emergency Departments. The tournament brought together more than 400 of the most experienced and passionate veteran table tennis players from across Australia, ranging in age from 30 to 88. Sarah, who is the Deputy President of the International Table Tennis Federation-Oceania, took part in the medal presentation ceremony as well. For our highly trained emergency doctors, having passions and pastimes that allow them to switch off and recharge in between ED shifts is paramount. Dr Jarrod Koh, from the Calvary Adelaide Hospital Emergency Department, has an incredible talent for astral photography. 🌃 So much so, that Jarrod has been named the Overall Winner of the prestigious David Malin Astrophotography Awards with this breathtaking image entitled 'The Region Around Rho-Ophiuchi'. Representing South Australia and the Astronomical Society of South Australia, Jarrod had the privilege of presenting his winning image to Dr Malin in a ceremony at the weekend. The judges' remarks: "A colourful and deep exposure of the Rho Ophiuchi invites the viewer to take a closer look. Highly resolved stars with beautiful colour variation, bright and dark nebulae with excellent contrast, detail and colour balance that is simply outstanding.” Jarrod also won the Deep Sky category and received Honourable Mentions in the Solar System category.
