We often receive inquiries about whether we can complete the Planning Portal lodgment on behalf of clients. Due to potential conflicts of interest, we are unable to assist with this task directly. The Building Commission NSW has provided guidance to certifiers on this matter (snippet below), which serves as a gentle reminder of our obligations. However, we are more than happy to help with any questions you might have regarding the Planning Portal. Please feel free to reach out if you need assistance!

Cert Lane - Building Certification and Approvals reposted this
This week promises to be both dynamic and rewarding as we delve into two distinct building audits. First up, we'll be reviewing a beauty salon for a Building Information Certificate, focusing on aspects like life safety. Following that, we’ll assess a large warehouse to determine its suitability for conversion into a vehicle repair station. The variety in your weekly tasks keeps the job fresh and engaging, reflecting the multifaceted nature of building code compliance. If you need any insights or tips into the audit process, just let me know!

We are thrilled to announce that we will be sponsoring the Master Builders Association of New South Wales 2024 - Newcastle Excellence in Building Awards. We look forward to celebrating the industry. We specifically chose to sponsor this event to celebrate the industry and people that support us. A big thank you to Kerri Richards for giving us this opportunity.

The past week and a half has been quite the whirlwind! I’d like to take a moment to catch my breath and extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone for their incredible support and well-wishes. It wasn't all smooth sailing—our emails went offline due to a website error—but we navigated the challenges, implemented future contingencies and emerged stronger. This busy period included attending the Master Builders Association Regional meeting, where it was a pleasure to hear valuable insights from industry leaders like Brad Walters from Equifax, Lou Stokanovski from Keystone Lawyers, and Andrew Savage from Weathertex. I also enjoyed the Made In The Hunter (Architecture) networking event. It was fascinating to hear Evan Graham and Steele Olney share their vision for the future of passive homes, and Peter Borg shed light on the challenges and opportunities in financing these projects. Looking ahead, we are excited about embarking on the ICIRT certification process. We firmly believe that initiatives like these will continue to strengthen and advance our industry.
