Chatty Café Australia is a registered ACNC Health Promotion Charity (HPC) to reduce loneliness and social isolation

About us

The aim of Chatty Café Australia (a registered ACNC Charity) is to help connect communities and increase social interactions by getting people chatting – either in their favourite local neighbourhood social venues or while travelling through other Aussie communities to meet the local folk. Everyone is welcome! The Chatty Cafe Australia initiative, despite drought, bushfires and Covid-19, is encouraging venues such as cafes, restaurants, pubs, clubs, libraries, community centres or a range of other social service facilities across Australia, to sign up – wherever people gather and have the opportunity to socialise and chat!

With the festive season upon us the sad reality for millions of Australians is that ‘tis the season to be lonely Below is the video Evan Batten from Move You Media brilliantly pulled together which tells the story of the Groundswell's Foundation's crusade to tackle loneliness & the afternoon soirée @ the end of A arm Cruising Yacht Club Australia on Monday 16th December. Wild Thing 💯 is one of the newest of the 10 supermaxis in the world 🌍 We are now only 7 days away from the 79th Sydney to Hobart when an impressive fleet of 107 yachts will turn right out of the Heads & turn south to Constitution Dock in Hobart. The 628 nautical mile course widely regarded as the most gruelling long ocean race in the world. Both Ben & Tanya Kunze, who is known as the "South African Business Fixer" share their personal stories of how loneliness has touched their lives. I'm delighted that Wild Thing 100 continue to be huge supporters of the Groundswell Foundation which was set up to tackle the loneliness & mental health epidemic. Below are 5 practical things we can all do to tackle loneliness: 1. Expand Social Connections 2. Cultivate Meaningful Relationships 3. Utilise Technology Positively 4. Engage in hobbies & sport 5. Volunteer & selflessly help others Our future depends on what we do today. #GroundswellFoundation #Loneliness #TacklingLoneliness #ConnectionsMatter Johanna Pitman Tanya Kunze Evan Batten Catherine Dean Bran Black Gaven Morris Pauline Blake Alex O'Mara Wendy Laureti Dr Eddie Jackson Georgie Skipper Grant Saxon Dylan Buckley Ian Pollari Trevor Matthews Sharon Williams FPRIA Jenny Kirschner Michael Pratt AM Taurus Marketing Mark Fenton-Jones Matthew Le Belenger Dr. Kanny Hannah Omar Afiouni BSc JP GAICD Heather Freeman Pia Clinton-Tarestad MITCH WALLIS Scott Riedel Andrew Baker Renée Condylis Andrew May Andrew J Yates Paul Nicolaou Lyall Gorman Daniel Hunter David Harding Cassie Newman Eamon Waterford Jane Magor Mark Smith

  • Professional Colleagues, Chatty Cafe Australia urgently needs your Corporate or personal support to keep us chatting in 2025! I'm writing this post with a heartfelt plea as we are at a critical juncture, and we need your help now more than ever! Have you personally or your family, friends or work colleagues ever felt lonely or isolated? It's a very depressing experience, trust me!! We are in need of $160,000 to keep us fighting against loneliness and social isolation within local communities Australia wide. Your generosity will change and save lives. Your corporate partnership (or donation) can make a world of difference. Partnership opportunities start from as little as $25k per annum. Imagine being the reason someone smiles, laughs, and feels valued again. Our current 230+ Chatty Café Table venues and volunteers in all States are a beacon of social connection and hope for hundreds of people weekly, but without urgent support funding, there will be no more Chatty Cafés in Australia in 2025. WHY PARTNER WITH CHATTY? 🌻 Demonstrate your corporate social responsibility / environmental, social and governance 🌻 Support your community to stay connected 🌻  Foster a greater sense of staff wellbeing and belonging with our partner resources 🌻  Provide your staff with meaningful volunteer opportunities PLUS - be the reason someone smiles again 😃 The need for meaningful social connection within our communities has never been greater. Loneliness is a silent epidemic tearing our communities apart, leaving countless individuals feeling isolated and invisible. At Chatty Café, our mission is to combat this isolation by creating opportunities for people to connect, share, and find a sense of belonging. If you would like to discuss partnership opportunities, please send me a direct message on LinkedIn or email connect@chattycafeaustralia.org.au or call me: (+61) 0412633304 Glenys Reid - Founder and Managing Director since 2019 https://lnkd.in/gYGijQKH
