Last Friday, our Partner, Hugh Brolsma, stepped out of his comfort zone to support a cause close to his heart and raise funds for the Children's Cancer Institute. As part of the #CEODareToCure2024, he took a thrilling jump from a 7-meter stunt platform – about the height of a two-storey house! This year alone, over 1,000 families in Australia will hear the words ‘your child has cancer’. Tragically, cancer remains the leading cause of death for children in our country, claiming nearly three young lives each week. Hugh has raised just over $5,000 towards the Children’s Cancer Institute’s goal of $1.75 million. With a matching grant from the Clayton Utz Foundation, his total contribution will exceed $10,000. Since 2003, Clayton Utz has proudly supported the Children’s Cancer Institute through the Clayton Utz Foundation and as a pro bono client. The funds raised will help further the Institute’s mission to save young lives and improve their long-term health outcomes through essential research. If you’d like to support this important cause, please visit: https://lnkd.in/gSTNb5UY Thank you for your support! #DareToCure #ChildrensCancerInstitute

Proudly Australian. Globally connected.
About us
We are one of Australia's oldest and largest law firms, with offices in six cities, nearly 200 partners, and a full range of legal services for large private sector and government clients. But we're more interested in talking about you, and with you. It's why, wherever you are, we give you advice that connects with you. Advice that isn't just a one-size-fits-all solution taken off a shelf, but that reflects who you are, and what you need. Advice created by lawyers with different experiences and different views, but united by an entrepreneurial spirit, a can-do attitude, confidence in each other, and pride in helping you achieve. As you might have noticed, we like speaking plainly. While we like thinking creatively to help you, we won't give you an answer hidden by legal jargon, or that doesn't reflect our honest opinion. Our clients value that, and trust us with their most important work. And we work hard to deserve that trust.

We're proud to be sponsoring this year's Australian Women Lawyers National Conference, celebrating the diverse experiences and backgrounds of women in law and opening important discussions on how we can all lead the way for women in our profession. Our Gender Committee Chair and Workplace Relations Partner Jennifer Wyborn, alongside Special Counsel Cynthia Elachi, spoke to attendees in Canberra this morning. They shared the support that has been instrumental in their careers that we can pass on to help lead the way for women to reach leadership positions, including mentorship, ongoing education and connection, and representation. Thank you to Australian Women Lawyers, the dedicated volunteers and incredible speakers who made the conference happen. You have all created an opportunity for legal professionals to learn from one another and continue shaping a more equitable profession. #AWL2024
