Could theory of change be used to (re)imagine future possibilities? 💭 I am excited to share that Emily F. Gates, and I wrote a paper that has been published in a new edition of New Directions in Evaluation about Futures and Evaluation. In this paper, we explore using #theoryofchange with a futures perspective. We provide a detailed case study of how The Difference Incubator went on a 12-month journey to imagine a transformational 10-year strategy and theory of change and how we incorporated a range of futures and foresight tools. Big thanks to Annette L Gardner, PhD, and the editorial team for their invaluable help with this article (and, of course, the amazing team at TDI led by Anthea Smits and critical friend support by Ingrid Burkett and Joanne McNeill. The full issue of #NewDirectionsinEvaluation, which is themed around foresight evaluation, will be out in a month or so! The article is online now and can be accessed here: https://lnkd.in/gPzHjSpP I really look forward to discussing this topic further, so do let me know your thoughts in the comments once you’ve read it! Hey you! Here's why you should join our upcoming Most Significant Change course 🙋♀️
We’re excited to share our friend Clear Horizon's Most Significant Change (MSC) Course starting August 16. Sharing stories and deeply listening helps us learn about diverse peoples’ experiences, their unique insights and what’s most important to them. Such practices nourish and cultivate our collective learning and wisdom. By grounding learning and evaluation in the stories of people most impacted by a system, especially those who are often unheard, we help shift power and accountability to the people whose perspectives matter the most. Learn about Clear Horizon’s MSC course and register here (https://hubs.li/Q02HVMzw0).
