The CMV Group is a family owned business who run operations in automotive dealerships and agriculture across SA and VIC.

About us

From a staff of five in 1934, the CMV Group now operates substantial operations in automotive dealerships and horticulture predominately in South Australia and Victoria, employing more than 1,600 staff. Having been in the automotive market since the 1960’s through the sale of Toyota vehicles, CMV Group has since expanded this range and now has a range of automotive businesses including: CMI Toyota, Lexus of Adelaide, Mercedes-Benz Adelaide and Southside Suzuki. CMV Group provides new and used, small, medium and heavy duty trucks, trailers and buses, and parts and service support across its many truck franchises. These include: CMV Truck and Bus, Kenworth DAF Adelaide, South Central Trucks, Hallam Truck Centre, Bayswater Truck Centre, CMI Hino, and Watts Transport Spares. In 1978, the Farms division was created, with the aim to contribute to the prosperity of the CMV Group through a diversification into the agricultural field. Currently specialising in wine grapes, pistachios and almonds, CMV Farms has land in Langhorne Creek and Loxton in South Australia, and Lindsay Point and Robinvale in Victoria. As part of its focus on giving back to the community, CMV also administers the CMV Foundation, a charitable trust which channels the Group’s distributable profit back into the community through donations to worthy causes. Since its formation in 1953 by the late Sidney Crawford, substantial funds have been donated, developing social responsibility and awareness whilst assisting those less fortunate.

Last month, a team from CMV Truck Centre including Jono Crawford, Jono's son, Angus, Josh Caccianiga, Josh's daughter, Indi, Mason Cook, Marty Mckeown, Kyle Robertson and Hayden Melnik travelled to Yankaninna in the Flinders Ranges as part of the CMV Group Volunteering Program to perform annual servicing and maintenance on plant, equipment, trailers and vehicles for Operation Flinders. Operations Flinders is a program with a mission to create opportunities for young people who are facing challenges, through adventure therapy programs that provide demanding experiences, personal development and pathways to wellbeing and life success. The equipment and machinery is vitally important to the smooth running of Operation Flinders' services, which support around 100 young people on each camp. From transporting participants, setting up campsites, loading and unloading of supplies and equipment, storage of equipment to log splitters and sawmills, all are pivotal to the success of each of exercise. "The appropriately skilled CMV Truck Centre team of volunteers found themselves far from the modern comforts and hi-tech tools of the workshop. This meant that they had to work together, improvise and problem solve on the fly. The great thing being that each person bought a different skill set and all chipped in to help others," said Josh Caccianiga, CMV Truck Centre Commercial Manager. Well done team!

Recently, a CMV Group volunteering session was held for BioR at Frahns Farm, Monarto, which saw CMV employees participate in the reconstruction of woodland habitat. Volunteers smashed the goal set at the beginning of the day, planting a huge 1,500 seedlings which will provide much needed habitat for declining woodland birds. It was a fantastic day with volunteers having the opportunity to also bring along their children and family members. The children were also treated to a bird banding session which was a particular highlight of the day. Also on the day, the CMV Group Foundation announced that they were putting forward a significant donation towards BioR which will help to support their incredible work reconstructing habitats for our local wildlife.
