Stephy George who leads AI at Cognitivo joined an esteemed panel to talk about LLMs to talk about where the technology is at, its impacts, interesting research covering psychology, the major challenges and what's next. Language is very important, but it's just an interface to human knowledge.
It was my pleasure as part of the Fintech AI Innovation Consortium (FAIC) activities to moderate a panel session today at UNSW Computer Science and Engineering on Emerging Trends in Large Language Models (LLMs) Research and Practice. The panel participants were: Paul X McCarthy (UNSW): CEO, computational social science research leader, and author. Aditya Joshi (UNSW): Lecturer, School of Computer Science and Engineering, UNSW Amin Beheshti (Macquarie University): Professor of Data and Director of the Centre for Applied Artificial Intelligence Sohan Aloysius Domingo (Fujitsu): Entrepreneur in the field of AI, ML, DL, Gen AI, Software, and Infrastructure Architecture. Stephy George (Cognitivo Consulting): Head of AI & Product. The session started with Amin giving a definition of LLMs, then each panelist described different LLM applications in education, research and industry. It was very interesting to see the breadth of applications and the challenges these new techniques are bringing amongst them scalability, cost and security. The conference discussions highlighted that significant disruptions are imminent in the field of education, driven predominantly by advancements from major tech companies. The panel consensus was clear: it's more advantageous to embrace this trend than to resist it. Big thanks to Prof. Sanjay Jha for initiating the event. Karen Corrigan, Laura Owen and the student volunteers - this event would not be possible without all your support. UNSW UNSW AI Institute

At Cognitivo, we were thrilled to connect with professionals from healthcare, government, tech, retail, and advisory sectors, all looking to harness the power of AI. Our mission? To put AI directly in the hands of business users! 💡Our CEO Alan Hsiao, emphasized the importance of having the freedom to choose your own AI Algorithms and models. He demonstrated Cognitivo's 🏭 AI Factory's intuitive UI, empowering business users to fine-tune algorithms as they work. AI Factory can be installed in an enterprise's own cloud tenancy to maintain🕵️ privacy and security. 🙏🙏Massive thanks to Katie Farrugia, Eloise Leaver, Wilhelmina Duyvestyn, and the amazing National AI Centre team for creating this phenomenal event that spotlighted Australia's thriving AI landscape! 🙏Thank you to Sarah Lee from Investment NSW for your support. #AI #UIofAI #AIfactory #AIinAustralia #AIautomation #AIprivacy

The Cognitivo team out in force yesterday, looking forward to what 2024 has in stall for us in AI. Now that the ChatGPT dust has settled, we'll see the difference between the AI wrapper companies, data science crews vs those who can engineer AI powered software at scale. looking forward to working with our customers, partners and supporters/advisors this year.
