Scams and fraud are continuing to rise and can happen to anyone.   Here are a few simple security features that add an extra layer of security to your CommSec account.   Security Q&A: These questions will be used to identify you if you forget your password, or whenever we need extra verification.   Trading Password: A trading password, which is different to your login password, can add an extra level of security to your account. It can be used to authenticate a user as an authorised operator on the account when placing orders via the CommSec website, CommSec mobile app or CommSec IRESS.   Phone Pin: A 6–16-digit numerical password that can be used to identify you when you call us.   SMS security: SMS-based two-factor authentication (2FA) and SMS one-time password (OTP) allows  you to verify your identity with a code, sent to you via text message.   Remember to Stop 🛑, Check 🔎 and Reject ❌ calls, emails and messages that look suspicious.

As widely expected, the #RBA has left the cash rate target unchanged for a seventh straight meeting at a near 13-year high of 4.35%.   A resilient labour market and sticky housing and services inflation continue to force the RBA Board to retain its higher-for-longer interest rate stance.   The RBA Board reiterated that monetary policy needed to stay tight, and it was not ruling out further increases if needed to control inflation.   The RBA said, "Headline inflation is expected to fall further temporarily, as a result of federal and state cost of living relief. However, our current forecasts do not see inflation returning sustainably to target until 2026."   There was limited share market response off the back of the announcement this afternoon with the S&P/ASX 200 index edging slightly lower.   CBA Group economists see the RBA on hold until the December Board meeting when we expect the RBA to commence an easing cycle. Markets are now pricing in a 59% chance of a rate cut by year-end.   To learn more about today’s interest rates decision, listen in to the evening episode of the CommSec Market Update. We sat down with our Executive General Manager, James Fowle to talk about his approach to mental health and the steps we can all take to foster an open and supportive culture.   Q: What small practices do you incorporate into your day to support your mental well-being?   Most of my days are spent in meetings, so I make sure to carve out a few breaks. I’ll head to the kitchen, grab a coffee, and chat with a colleague, or just take a quiet moment to reset. It’s those little pauses that help me clear my head and get ready for what’s next." Q: How do you encourage a culture of openness around mental health at CommSec?   I try to talk openly about my own experiences and how I’m feeling, and I hope that encourages others to do the same. It’s important that people feel like it’s okay to speak up, so we make it a point to reinforce that mental health is just as important as physical health. We’re all in this together."     Let’s all make it a habit to check in with our colleagues, friends, and loved ones, not just today but every day. You never know how much a simple conversation could mean to someone 💛   #RUOKDay
