2019 Fellowship for Non-Fiction Writing recipient James Bradley shared with us how the fellowship helped him complete his book Deep Water. He said: "The greatest gift for any writer is always time to work. The Non-Fiction Fellowship gave me that time, allowing me the space to pull together my most recent book, Deep Water, and helping me finance several trips necessary for the project. The book could never have been written without that support - it was simply too big and too complicated to pull together in bits and pieces around other work- and I’m incredibly grateful to the Copyright Agency for their trust." Congratulations on the book, James! To learn about the 2024 fellowships, read the story here: https://buff.ly/4eV4QbM

The second Frank Moorhouse Fellowship for Young Writers has been awarded to Sydney based writer and critic Bryant Apolonio to develop and write their first full length work of fiction. Bryant’s project, a novel entitled The Fortunate, is a story set between Sydney and the Philippines that draws upon inherited legacies, obsession, the power of storytelling and the scars left by war, colonisation and authoritarianism.
