Our newest CoRE educator, Adam Brooks, kicked off his first week by immersing himself in the heart of our regional school communities in the Wheatbelt. From spontaneous lessons to hands-on projects, Adam’s experience truly captured the spirit of CoRE’s dynamic and flexible approach to education. ⛏️ ✨ Reflecting on his time at Koorda Primary, Adam shared how he was inspired by Sarah’s Project-Based Learning (PBL) on wheat-growing. "It was incredible to see how curiosity-driven and personalised learning can create lasting educational impacts," Adam said. At Beacon Primary, the creativity continued as Suzy adapted on the spot, designing a PBL activity around aqueducts linked to the local farming community. "The flexibility and real-world relevance of CoRE is what makes it so engaging for students and educators alike," Adam noted, showcasing just how fluid and impactful the CoRE Learning Model can be. 🌱 One of the highlights was facilitating a Minecraft session at Beacon, where students proudly showcased their aqueduct designs to their fathers during a Father’s Day breakfast. Through CoRE’s Gamifying Earth Science (GES) initiative, we are working on bringing activities like this to more schools, to allow students to explore real-world engineering concepts in a fun, interactive way. Adam was amazed by the students’ enthusiasm and creativity. GES continues to transform STEM learning by giving students and educators engaging tools that bring earth science to life. 🎮 We are so proud of all our students, educators, and schools across the Wheatbelt who bring the CoRE Learning Model to life every day. 🚀 This wouldn't be possible without support from our sponsors Ramelius Resources Limited, Chevron, BHP, CSIRO and Australian Geoscience Council. Our students at Koorda Primary in the Wheatbelt region have been diving deep into their projects, working together in business units to research and explore topics that spark their curiosity. Through the CoRE Learning Model, students learn to: ❓ Ask questions 🔍 Seek their own answers 🤝 Actively engage with their peers CoRE Educator Sarah Noakes shares, “The CoRE Learning Model has nurtured a natural curiosity in my students as they ask more questions, seek their own answers and solutions, and engage in conversations to share their findings.” This unique, collaborative approach not only boosts student engagement but also empowers them to take charge of their own learning. 💡 If you’re interested in bringing these immersive, hands-on experiences to your school, learn more about the CoRE Learning Model 🔗 https://lnkd.in/gdxdqX_r #STEMEducation #CollaborativeLearning #StudentEngagement #therealclassroom
