Our National BDM Craig Stanley just returned from the PSC Network Insurance Partners conference in Tokyo, Japan. The theme of the conference was "Future Fusion - Merging Tech & Tradition for Broking success." The conference kicked off with a fantastic networking opportunity in the Marketplace, followed by dinner at the iconic Gonpachi Nishi-Azabu, known for its appearance in Kill Bill. The following day, after some breakout sessions, participants were offered a unique cultural experience with a Sumo and Samurai session, where they learned about Sumo culture, watched live matches, and even tried their hand at Samurai techniques. The final day was all about the future, featuring insightful sessions on technology and AI, with keynote speaker Tracey Spicer AM GAICD emphasising that "The Future is NOW." The conference wrapped up with a Q&A panel with PSC Management and insurers discussing market trends.

📍 🌏 Connection Days at CHU Each month, our teams come together in the office for what has affectionately become known as ConneCHUn Day! CHU embraces a hybrid working model which usually means people and combinations of teams are in the office across the week. However, our monthly connection days are invaluable opportunities for the entire team to gather in person, collaborate, share ideas, and connect. The theme for our August Connection day was “Let’s Go Green🌿” leading up to the ANZIIF Awards for which CHU was recognised in three categories including Excellence in Environmental, Social and Governance Change, Claims Team of the Year and Underwriting Agency of the Year. It was a great chance to update the entire team on CHU’s efforts in the sustainability space. CHU’s Green Team members—Fraser Gow, Pauline Stainer, Mia Wilson, Belinda Schiavone, Anjali chettigari, Alison Bell, Anna Zeeng, David Gow, and Quynh Ngo—provided an update on the progress made over the past 12 months in the ESG space, highlighting CHU’s commitment to sustainable practices within our business, our industry, and our supply chain. Thank you to the connection day committee, Steve Brisson, Zoe Laws, Brett Power, Lauren Kent, Chloe Bucke, Fadi Dannaoui, Reshma Sivasankar, Emma Groth, Chrystal Cuka, Sara Brophy, Chantel Herter, Jennifer Bracamonte who put much time, energy and enthusiasm into organising these monthly events. It’s always a great bonding session and an opportunity to live our business values of people first, unity, and leading the way.

CHU were honoured to attend the 20th Australian Insurance Industry Awards (ANZIIF) last Thursday evening. We are thrilled to announce that CHU won the Excellence in Excellence in Environmental, Social, and Governance Change (ESG) Award! The judges commented on CHU’s focus on sustainability within our supply chain. In 2023 CHU conducted a rigorous RFI process which involved vetting and selecting a new Builders Panel, committed to ethical practices and achieving net zero carbon emissions. CHU’s CEO, Kimberley Jonsson commented on the win: “I am so proud of this award for CHU. As we celebrate this recognition, we remain focused on our customers and community. CHU is committed to leading the strata industry towards a sustainable and resilient future, and we will continue to innovate, collaborate, and uphold high standards of governance and social responsibility.” CHU were also finalists for Claims Team of the Year and Underwriting Agency of the Year. We congratulate all the winners from this celebration of industry excellence. Thank you to those who attended CHU's August webinar – ‘Demystifying Liability Claims’. It was great to have Melissa Fenton, Principal at Gilchrist Connell, join CHU Underwriting Agencies Pty Ltd’s Technical Claims Manager, Vince Norton-Scott, for a deep dive into the complexities of liability claims. The webinar covered key aspects of liability claims, focusing on Personal Injury and Property Damage claims, offering practical insights into managing and mitigating these risks. One of the most critical takeaways? Prompt action is crucial. Delays in reporting can hinder the investigation and defence of the claim, potentially leading to higher costs and complications. If you are interested in attending our future webinars - you can register here: https://lnkd.in/gPesrMQi Our webinar series is a great way to learn about a particular topic within the complex world of Strata. Attending our live webinars means you are will also be eligible for SCA and ANZIIF CDP points by attending the live webinar. Did you miss out on our previous webinars? Don't worry you can watch them here: https://lnkd.in/gEttwmDW (note: watching the recording will not accrue CDP points). #Insurance #LiabilityClaims #Webinar #Strata

CHU was proud to support the GO Foundation - The Goodes O'Loughlin Foundation by attending their ‘Big Lunch’ in Sydney on Friday 9th August 2024. The event provided a great insight into the important work of the GO Foundation and the impact of funds raised to support the education of young Indigenous people. It was an honour to be at this event in the presence of Adam Goodes, Michael O'Loughlin, Peter Garrett, Blak Douglas, the Governor General Sam Mostyn, Fitzy, Mark Heiss and MC Dr Anita Heiss. Hearing former student and GO scholar Aurielle Smith's stunning performance of Cold Chisel’s "Flame Trees" was a real highlight. A huge thank you to Charlene Davison and Catherine Gunning for having us, and a big thank you to our clients Damien Coorey, Melisa Tsiorvas, Alistair Gibney, Mitchell Lipscombe, Peter Dennis who joined the CHU team table with Kimberley Jonsson, David Gow, Kristy Pownall MAICD CAHRI and Paul Sassella for this event. Supporting the GO Foundation is a cause close to our hearts, and we look forward to continuing our journey together to empower the next generation of GO’s students. #GOFoundation #IndigenousEducation #CHUCares #CommunitySupport

🏅 As the 2024 Olympics has now come to a close, you might be feeling inspired by the amazing spirit and determination shown by our Aussie athletes. Our team has been following closely and loved every minute of the action. Some have also been inspired to take on new challenges — whether on the track, in the office, or both. One such team member is Craig Stanley, CHU’s National Business Development Manager, who takes the concept of going the extra mile to heart — literally. Our broker and strata manager partners know Craig well, as he is often the face of CHU’s monthly educational webinars and in person at conferences and events with his fellow CHU BDM team. In our latest article, Craig shares his passion for marathon training, and how he applies similar principles to his personal and professional life - setting long-term goals and staying consistent to achieve success. Whether you’re inspired to take up running or aiming to set new goals in your career, Craig’s story is a testament to what can be achieved with determination and a passion for the long run.
