Promoting opportunities. Protecting rights. For people 50+
About us
COTA Victoria is the leading not-for-profit organisation representing the interests and rights of people aged 50+ in Victoria. For more than 70 years in Victoria, we have led government, corporate and community thinking about the positive aspects of ageing. Today, our focus is on promoting the opportunities and protecting the rights of people 50+. We see an ageing population as a time of opportunities for personal growth, contribution and self-expression. We believe there are obvious national, state, community, family and individual benefits from this approach.

We're so very grateful for the chance to speak and meet with state MPs -- including the Honourable Jacinta Allan, Premier of Victoria -- about the importance of Seniors Rights Victoria (SRV) and other community legal centres (CLCs). As CLCs like SRV continue to face a rising demand on services, combined with funding instability, it's incredibly important to highlight the need for increased long-term support. Thank you to each and every person who stopped by our booth, including those from fellow CLCs, those in parliament, and even those who happened to be touring Parliament House! (And thanks, of course, to Liz, Shelley, Jean-Marc, Leonie, Avital, Julia, Jacinta, and Ben for manning our booth and to Federation of Community Legal Centres for organising the event!)
