***Project Profile*** At Positive Solutions, we're proud to reflect on our journey of collaboration with Bunjil Place and the City of Casey. Our involvement began in 2014 with a Demand Assessment for the New City of Casey Theatre, responding to the area's burgeoning growth. In 2016 we conducted a Governance Model Review to lay the foundation for the precinct's sustainability and success. Fast forward to 2019, we collaborated with The Maytrix Group to craft a comprehensive Business and Financial Plan for Bunjil Place – a clear future roadmap for the cultural hub. Today, our partnership continues as we work alongside the City of Casey to explore establishment of a charitable vehicle for the precinct, paving the way for increased philanthropic and other financial support. Our ongoing relationship with Bunjil Place underscores the value of cumulative expertise and strong partnerships. 15 years of transformative arts development in Hong Kong! Positive Solutions played a pivotal role in planning the West Kowloon Cultural District (WKCD), Asia's premier cultural hub. From 2002, we collaborated closely with Norman Foster Architects, contributing to the concept development and operational strategies that define WKCD today. Recently, the development of WKCD was celebrated at the inaugural Hong Kong International Cultural Summit at WKCD. Global leaders gathered to explore the future of arts and culture, underscoring the district's role in urban transformation. This summit highlighted the impact of collaborative visionaries in shaping global cultural dialogue and solidified WKCD's position as an innovative leader. #ArtsInHongKong #CulturalLeadership #WestKowloonCulturalDistrict #PositiveSolutions #ArtsDevelopment https://lnkd.in/gMEmbQsk

Positive Solutions recently assisted the City of Casey in determining the most appropriate charitable vehicle for Bunjil Place, conducting benchmarking research, evaluation, and analysis to support fundraising efforts. During the project we connected with the Productivity Commission team, regarding the Commission's draft report, 'Future Foundations For Giving.' This report underscores philanthropy's significant role in Australia, with contributions exceeding $13 billion and extensive volunteer engagement. Key recommendations include simplifying the deductible gift recipient (DGR) system to enhance fairness and donor choice, reforming charity regulations via the ACNC for transparency and public trust, and proposing an independent foundation for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. These reforms aim to maximise philanthropy's societal benefits and streamline support for charitable endeavors nationwide. Great news for Melbourne! Peter Elliott Architecture And Urban Design have been tasked with revitalising the historic South Melbourne Town Hall into a performance venue for the Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM). ANAM became a tenant of the Town Hall from 1997 (a few years later Federal Government commissioned Positive Solutions to undertake a review of ANAM). However, in 2020 the building was declared unsafe, with all tenants required to move from the building. Now that is about to change. This exciting $65 million project will transform the town hall into a vibrant hub, featuring a new 150-seat theatre, a 350-seat main hall, a foyer bar and lounge, a commercial kitchen, and a public terrace. The renewed space will host a variety of events, from stand-up comedy to string quartets, and will serve as a focal point for local community engagement. Architect Peter Elliott emphasises the importance of honouring the site's First Nations history in the design process, ensuring that the venue becomes an inclusive and welcoming space for all. We will be eagerly watching as this heritage building undergoes a remarkable transformation, enriching the cultural landscape of Melbourne for years to come. We are thrilled to see ARM Architecture's bold new design for the Geelong Arts Centre(GAC). The GAC's eye-catching facade and energetic interiors break down traditional barriers, inviting everyone to engage with the arts in a fresh and exciting way. From its dynamic performance spaces to the commissioned artworks by local First Nations artists, every detail reflects a commitment to inclusivity and cultural engagement. At Positive Solutions, we are proud to have played a part in the early stages of GAC's development through market research and demand assessment. More recently we have supported Geelong's cultural evolution through our work on the city's Arts and Cultural Strategy. Our 2020 project helped articulate a vision and set long-term goals to create a sustainable, thriving region by investing in arts and culture. This aligns perfectly with the new State-supported GAC, reinforcing Geelong's identity as a UNESCO City of Design with a deep connection to local community and a commitment to culture as a public good. HOTA (Home of the Arts) Gold Coast will be receiving a new Lyric Theatre as an addition to the city's vibrant cultural hub, in place of the former Gold Coast Art Centre auditorium. The early designs by ARM Architecture have been released with the new 1,800 seat theatre set to accommodate major theatrical productions including musicals, ballet, opera, comedy and live music. Positive Solutions worked with the City of Gold Coast on the initial master planning for the Evandale site, which became Home of the Arts (HOTA), and later advised on governance arrangements and – with The Maytrix Group - on commercial elements of the site. We're thrilled to see the centre continue to grow and develop, with continued commitment from the City Council. https://lnkd.in/gGc24fqQ

Exciting news for music lovers in NSW! Since the introduction of Vibrancy Reforms by the NSW Labor Government, live music venues have surged by 84%, offering more opportunities for local musicians and bands to shine. With 112 new venues joining the lineup since March 2023, and incentives like extended trading hours and reduced licence fees, the music scene is booming once again. Read on to learn more about how these reforms are energising the live music landscape across the state. In Victoria, Positive Solutions contributed to the live music landscape through our work on design of the Music Works funding program which focussed on developing long-term and viable careers for Victorian musicians and music businesses. We also assisted with the Music Market project, providing accommodation for key music industry agencies like Music Victoria and The Push.
