We’re excited to share that Crohn's Colitis Cure was recently featured in a segment on ABC Wide Bay Radio! 🎙️ Dr. Gareth Walker, a gastroenterologist and valued research collaborator with our charity, took the time to discuss what Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) is and how it impacts the lives of those affected. At the 9-minute and 50-second mark, you can also hear from Emily, who bravely shares her personal experience of living with IBD in Bundaberg and how it shapes her daily life. But that’s not all! There’s another segment at 1 hour, 58 minutes, and 15 seconds about the exciting development of our CCCare IBD App, which will soon be co-designed with people with IBD from all over the world! For any people with IBD wanting to get involved in the co-design and consultation phase, please email info@c-c-cure.org—your input will help shape the future of IBD care. Inflammatory Bowel Disease affects millions. Help 'Crohn's Colitis Cure' to transform patient outcomes and find a cure!
About us
Who are we? Our purpose is to ‘transform patient outcomes’ in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) and be ‘instrumental in finding a cure’. A small group of passionate physicians in the field of IBD, from Australia and the UK, began this journey in 2011. Partnering with with a software development company, we developed and run a scalable cloud-based software tool (Crohn’s Colitis Care – CCCare) on Microsoft Azure. This knowledge-based, physical “asset” (CCCare) enables ongoing collection, refresh and use of patient data for research into IBD. How does it work? CCCare is an integrated tool which encompasses: • a patient clinical system, with privacy safeguards, through which individual care is managed and ongoing specific structured patient data is captured; • a clinical quality registry, where de-identified longitudinal data is captured and can be interrogated to provide specific and targeted insights (and can be married with genetic and bio-markers from stored samples); and • a research database, where extended data with ethics-approved focus resides Independent feedback from external organisations in the IBD space have confirmed that our data is deep, focused, and constantly refreshed through the patient/clinician interaction - in a way which many IBD databases cannot. Partnership opportunities We have recently developed a new 3-year strategy which transforms our ambition and trajectory — moving from a primary focus on the development of our technology core, to placing the majority of our effort into research. We are in ongoing conversations to expand our partner base and welcome additional discussions from organisations who share our vision to transform patient outcomes and be instrumental in finding a cure in IBD.

Last Sunday, the incredible Liverpool Hospital IBD Team, including our very own board director, Professor Susan Connor, took part in the Colour Frenzy Obstacle 🌈 🏃♀️💨 It was an amazing opportunity to spread awareness and support people living with this chronic condition – something we are incredibly passionate about. Check out Susie wearing her CCCure shirt, which now looks a lot more colourful! 🎉 This fundraiser was part of Crohn’s & Colitis Australia’s Live Fearless Challenge, and we're so proud to be involved! Together, we’re making a difference – one colour at a time! 🌟 #ColourFrenzy #LiveFearless #IBDAwareness #CrohnsColitisCure #IBDCommunity #Support

Crohn's Colitis Cure reposted this
“IBD manifests with symptoms including blood in the stool, diarrhoea and an urgency to go to the toilet. Incontinence and a loss of control of your bowels, particularly in a public place, can have a devastating impact,’’ Professor Connor said. Crohn’s Colitis Care (CCCare) is a ground-breaking cloud-based platform that integrates patient and clinical data in real time to manage inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Developed by Professor Susan Connor and the Crohn’s Colitis Cure charity, it supports over 15,000 patients and 300 clinicians, enhancing care and driving research. We are incredibly proud to celebrate Dr. Wai Kin Su, CCCure’s 2024 Research Fellow, for his remarkable achievements at GESA: Gastroenterological Society of Australia’s Australian Gastroenterology Week (AGW) conference this year! Dr. Su, who is on his way to becoming a #gastroenterologist, also has an impressive background in #data and #statistics, making him a force in IBD research. His passion for improving the lives of people with IBD led him to publish 14 abstracts at this year’s AGW. To put this in perspective – having just one abstract accepted is a huge achievement, so 14 is simply phenomenal! 🎉 Pictured here is Dr. Su in front of many of his posters, and yes, we couldn’t even fit all 14 into the photo! This speaks to the wealth of data within the CCCare #ClinicalQualityRegistry, and we invite those interested in joining a coalition of the willing to get in touch. There’s so much more waiting to be analysed and published – reach out at info@c-c-cure.org to get involved! #AGW2024 #IBDResearch #CCCare #Gastroenterology #ResearchExcellence #InflammatoryBowelDisease #IBDCare #CrohnsColitisCure
