Inflammatory Bowel Disease affects millions. Help 'Crohn's Colitis Cure' to transform patient outcomes and find a cure!
About us
Who are we? Our purpose is to ‘transform patient outcomes’ in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) and be ‘instrumental in finding a cure’. A small group of passionate physicians in the field of IBD, from Australia and the UK, began this journey in 2011. Partnering with with a software development company, we developed and run a scalable cloud-based software tool (Crohn’s Colitis Care – CCCare) on Microsoft Azure. This knowledge-based, physical “asset” (CCCare) enables ongoing collection, refresh and use of patient data for research into IBD. How does it work? CCCare is an integrated tool which encompasses: • a patient clinical system, with privacy safeguards, through which individual care is managed and ongoing specific structured patient data is captured; • a clinical quality registry, where de-identified longitudinal data is captured and can be interrogated to provide specific and targeted insights (and can be married with genetic and bio-markers from stored samples); and • a research database, where extended data with ethics-approved focus resides Independent feedback from external organisations in the IBD space have confirmed that our data is deep, focused, and constantly refreshed through the patient/clinician interaction - in a way which many IBD databases cannot. Partnership opportunities We have recently developed a new 3-year strategy which transforms our ambition and trajectory — moving from a primary focus on the development of our technology core, to placing the majority of our effort into research. We are in ongoing conversations to expand our partner base and welcome additional discussions from organisations who share our vision to transform patient outcomes and be instrumental in finding a cure in IBD.

What an important endeavour by Crohn's & Colitis Australia, and one that aligns closely with our mission to improve care and be instrumental in finding a cure for IBD. Get involved and make your voice heard by clicking the link in the post below. Together, we can advocate for the changes needed to improve the lives of those living with IBD across Australia.
Australia’s First-Ever IBD State of the Nation Survey Crohn’s & Colitis Australia is pleased to announce that we are developing Australia’s first ever Inflammatory Bowel Disease State of the Nation report. This survey will form an important part of the evidence we need to advocate for the policy reforms and investments that will improve the lives of people living with IBD across Australia. It will identify the challenges associated with living with IBD and quantify the health, social, financial and economic costs of IBD to Australian families. We know this is a big ask of you, but your experience and ideas are important to us and can help our team advocate for changes that will lead to better outcomes for people living with IBD across Australia. Let’s get started. You can access the survey here: https://lnkd.in/gCz5_Z4b

THIS TIME LAST WEEK, we held our annual Crohn's Colitis Cure Face-to-Face meeting in Barangaroo, New South Wales. We were joined by various stakeholders, #clinical users & researchers for a day-long discussion about our Crohn's Colitis Care (CCCare) #platform and the #data stored within our linked #clinicalqualityregistry. The meeting focused on related #research (published, current, and upcoming), recent and future #software enhancements, and crucial #advocacy issues. Our primary goal was clear: to IMPROVE PATIENT CARE NOW and be INSTRUMENTAL IN FINDING A CURE—a mission that drives everything we do at Crohn's Colitis Cure. Aren't we a good looking bunch?

Recent findings highlight a critical gap in communication between GPs and specialists treating young people with IBD (https://lnkd.in/gQ9yNJYC). At CCCure, our mission is to improve care now and find a cure. CCCare, our cloud-based IBD-specific electronic medical record, automatically generates structured letters to GPs, detailing all clinically relevant information and a personalised management plan. These letters can be sent directly to GPs through the platform, ensuring they are never kept in the dark. Imagine... a platform that removes data silos, reduces administrative burdens, and ensures seamless communication across all care settings! Children, like 11-year-old Arthur, are helping University of Cambridge scientists grow 'mini-guts' in the lab to better understand #crohnsdisease. This groundbreaking research aims to personalise treatments for #Crohn’s patients. By studying #DNA changes in #gut #cells, researchers hope to tailor treatments to individual needs, a crucial step towards #personalisedcare. This study highlights the importance of #innovative #research in transforming patient care. At Crohn’s Colitis Cure, we are committed to supporting such pioneering research to improve the lives of those with IBD. Together, we can make strides in understanding and treating this challenging condition. Today, CCCure is attending the "Transforming Australia’s Digital Health Infrastructure" information session in Canberra, ACT, hosted by the Australian Digital Health Agency (https://lnkd.in/gQMNE9qW). We're here to #advocate for a vital change in our #healthcare system. "People should not have to retell their health story. Their key information should follow them and, should they wish, be available to the whole care team across primary care, allied care, hospital care, and aged care." This #digitaltransformation will drive information #sharing and #realtime #dataexchange, ensuring that health information is accessible when and where it's needed. It aims to reduce #duplication and waste, easing workforce and budget pressures, and increasing #safety, #quality, and #productivity. We're thrilled to be part of this movement towards a person-centred, #connectedhealthcare system! #DigitalHealth #HealthcareTransformation #PatientCentricCare #HealthEquity #ChronicDiseaseManagement #PrimaryCare #AlliedCare #HospitalCare #AgedCare #HealthInnovation #HealthInformatics #PatientEmpowerment #IBD #CCCure
