Award winning writers Congratulations to Mie from Our Lady Help of Christians, Epping, Stage 1 student, who won a GOLD award in this year's WriteOn Competition and to Nina from St Thomas’ Catholic School, Willoughby, Stage 3 student, who won a SILVER award. They were both celebrated with an awards ceremony at the Art Gallery of NSW in September. Writeon is an annual writing competition for NSW primary students in years 1 to 6, using image as the stimulus. The annual WriteOn competition gives students the opportunity to become published authors and develop skills in writing to express their ideas. The HALT Recognition Ceremony is an annual event recognising and celebrating the hard work, dedication and achievement of NSW teachers who have attained HALT accreditation. Alumni Focus – St Leo’s Catholic College, Wahroonga Congratulations to past CSBB student, Samuel Harmon, playing in the ensemble of the upcoming production of Jesus Christ Superstar at the Capitol Theatre, Sydney. Samuel is also the Understudy for both Jesus and Thomas characters. Samuel previously attended St Leo’s Catholic College, Wahroonga, Class of 2018, and graduated at NIDA (Dip in Musical Theatre). St Leo’s Catholic College has had a very strong tradition and background in producing professional and a very high standard of musicals as part of their CAPA program. Whilst a student at St Leo’s, Samuel had lead roles in the College’s productions of High School Musical, Guys and Dolls and Beauty and the Beast. The 2025 College Musical will be Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
