The DeckSeal team is proud to announce that DeckSeal is now a registered NDIS provider. From deck restoration to deck oiling and staining, we remain committed to providing the same high quality services and friendly customer service as always, with added peace of mind for all of our valued customers. What is the NDIS? The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is a vitally important component of our society that “provides funding to eligible people with disability to gain more time with family and friends, greater independence, access to new skills, jobs, volunteering in their community, and an improved quality of life.” This includes connecting those with disability to services in the community such as doctors, support groups, and community groups. Currently, the NDIS supports over 500,000 Australians with disability to access the services and support that they need. What Services Can DeckSeal Provide as a Registered NDIS Provider? Deck Restoration: Deck restoration services are a comprehensive way to restore old and tired decks, which often take place in a number of steps. Beginning with an inspection, deck preparation and deck sanding then follows, and the process is finished off with deck washing and oiling, staining, or painting. This process is a meticulous one, which can help to not only bring your deck back to life aesthetically but also help to ensure its safety and yours. When most people think of deck maintenance, they imagine the glossy shine of freshly stained wood or the satisfying feeling of stepping onto a smooth, well-maintained surface. While those visual rewards are important, there’s more to deck maintenance than aesthetics alone. In fact, regularly maintaining your deck can offer some unexpected benefits that go beyond what meets the eye. A well-maintained deck can significantly increase your home’s value. Potential buyers are attracted to outdoor spaces, especially when those spaces are in good condition. Safety is often overlooked when it comes to deck maintenance. However, an unmaintained deck can quickly become a hazard. Wood that’s left untreated can become brittle and prone to splintering, while damaged boards or loose nails can create tripping risks. In wet conditions, mould and mildew can make a deck slippery and dangerous to walk on. One of the biggest benefits of routine deck maintenance is how it prolongs the life of the structure. Wood is a natural material that, without proper care, can deteriorate over time. Maintaining your deck isn’t just a summer job. As the seasons change, so do the challenges your deck faces, from summer’s intense heat to winter’s rain and moisture. At DeckSeal, we’re not just about making your deck look great. We’re here to help you protect your investment, enhance your outdoor experience, and ensure your deck remains a safe and enjoyable space for years to come. Check out our latest blog!

𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗸 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗰𝗸 1.Examine the Joists and Beams Verify that joist hangers are secure and free from rust or corrosion and look for signs of rot, cracks, or warping in the joists and beams. 2. Check for Loose or Damaged Boards Check for rot, splinters, or cracks and ensure all nails and screws are secure and not protruding. 3. Inspect the Railings and Stairs Give the railings a firm shake to test their stability. Check for loose or damaged sections. Inspect the stair treads and risers for any signs of wear, rot, or instability and ensure they are securely attached to the deck. 5. Assess the Overall Condition Ensure the deck has proper drainage to avoid water pooling, which can lead to wood rot or mildew. Check if the deck’s surface needs cleaning, sealing, or staining to protect it from the elements. 6. Look for Signs of Pests Inspect for signs of pest activity, such as hollow-sounding wood, sawdust, or small holes. 7. Test the Lighting and Electrical Components Ensure all lighting fixtures are working correctly and are securely mounted. Check that outdoor electrical outlets are functional and weatherproofed. 8. Evaluate the Deck’s Load-Bearing Capacity If the deck regularly supports heavy loads (like spas or large gatherings), consider having a professional assess its load-bearing capacity. Regular deck safety checks can prevent accidents and prolong the life of the deck. 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗸𝗦𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻!
