Throwback video to the plank installation at our Sheedy’s Bridge Replacement Project! This was a major project milestone, and we were pleased to share the occasion with Hilltops Council. Installing the concrete planks in one day required great coordination from our team, which they managed seamlessly – a big well done to our site team! #delaneycivil #constructionindustry #teamwork #bridge #bridgereplacement #regional #concreteplanks #plankinstallation

𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗝𝗘𝗖𝗧 𝗨𝗣𝗗𝗔𝗧𝗘: 𝗖𝗛𝟯𝟬𝟬 𝗦𝗘𝗧𝗧𝗟𝗘𝗥𝗦 𝗥𝗢𝗔𝗗 𝗟𝗔𝗡𝗗𝗦𝗟𝗜𝗣 𝗥𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗗𝗜𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 We are nearing completion at the CH300 Settlers Road Landslip Remediation Project for Hawkesbury City Council! This project has been the first that we have carried out as a Rope Access Slope Remediation Project – and we are very excited to have been given the opportunity to expand our technical capability and experience. Our team has successfully carried out slope remediation on this project using rope access, highlighting the following features: • 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: Evaluating the slope to determine the best equipment and plant for the job • 𝗦𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Hand and machine scaling of unsuitable material and installing a silt boom in the Hawkesbury River in accordance with best practices • 𝗦𝗼𝗶𝗹 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Installing 4 staggered rows of 6m+ soil nails with a 21T excavator and extension boom with a Drill mast installed & two rows with a wagon drill on rope access. The soil nails were 150mm diameter at 1.5m spacings accompanied with sleeving and centralisers, and filling them with 40MPA grout • 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗗𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲: Installing strip drains and weep holes at 1.5m spacings • 𝗙𝗶𝗯𝗿𝗲 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Applying fibre crete on the slope crest for a smoother grade transition before galvanised mesh installation • 𝗠𝗲𝘀𝗵 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Placing and securing SL81 galvanised mesh on top of the fibre crete • 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝘁𝗰𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗲 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Applying 160mm of coloured shotcrete in 2 layers The drilling of soil nails and grouting are now complete, with meshing and shotcreting in progress. We are working closely with the project designers and our delivery partners to bring this project to completion as quickly as possible, as it will improve the safety of Settlers Road for local residents in future flood events. #delaneycivil #community #constructionindustry #construction #flood #floodremediation #landslips #landslides

PROJECT MILESTONE: PLANK INSTALLATION AT SHEEDY’S BRIDGE! The Delaney Civil team has achieved a major milestone at the Sheedy’s Bridge Replacement Project, with the installation of the concrete planks! This milestone brings us ever closer to the completion of this bridge replacement project, which will reopen the road to residents with a new wider bride deck and improved load limit capacity. To celebrate, we hosted a BBQ on site and were joined by Hilltops Council, as we watched the last plank being installed! #delaneycivil #community #constructionindustry #bridge #construction #bridgereplacement #demolition #hilltopscouncil

First Aid & CPR Refresher Training! Last month the entire Delaney Civil team took part in completing our first aid and CPR refresher training! A skill that is essential for looking out for each other on the sites or office environments. As we prepare for the summer months, the training was very timely – particularly as it covered snake bites! We are pleased to report that the entire team passed with flying colours. We conduct these training sessions to ensure all our staff have the skills to act effectively in an emergency situation, although we do hope to never need to use them. #delaneycivil #constructionindustry #lookingoutforeachother #team

MENTAL HEALTH IS EVERYONE’S BUSINESS WORKSHOP AND BBQ! And that’s a wrap on Tradies Health Month! Thanks to the Black Dog Institute, we held a ‘Mental Health is Everyone’s Business Workshop’ on Friday, accompanied by a BBQ lunch. Research shows that informal BBQ’s are the top preference for workers for mental health support, so in celebration of Tradies Health Month we held three lunches across our different project locations and head office. 1 in 5 Australians experience a mental illness, and the workplace can play a significant role in mental wellbeing and recovery. A big thank you to the entire Delaney Civil team for their participation on Friday! #delaneycivil #constructionindustry #tradieshealthmonth #tradiehealth #mentalhealth #mentalhealthatwork #BlackDogInstitute

PROJECT UPDATE: GORRICKS RUN CAUSEWAY REPLACEMENT PROJECT Project milestones at the Gorricks Run Causeway Replacement Project continue to be met by the Delaney Civil team! Both the upstream and downstream apron slabs have been poured, the culverts are in, with the culvert deck slab poured and curing in place, the wingwalls have also been poured. The kerb is being formed and preparation works are under way for the transverse subgrade beams. We are currently removing sheet piles, as our team prepares to commence work on the road approaches and scour protection measures. The current causeway will remain in use until the new causeway has been completed, ensuring that resident access remains in place throughout the duration of this project! #delaneycivil #flood #floodremediation #concrete #causeway #constructionindustry #community #innovation #cofferdam

DELANEY TEAM! Here is our Delaney team – still smiling after an early start at the mass concrete pour of the footing at Thomas James Bridge Restoration Project! They were out on site to see the sun rise as they set up for the big day ahead, and enjoyed a breakfast BBQ for their efforts. It is the hard work of our team that ensures we achieve our project milestones! #delaneycivil #community #constructionindustry #heritage #bridge #historicalbridge #convictbuilt #restoration #history #iconic #construction #flood #floodremediation #concretepour #masspour

PROJECT FLYOVER: THOMAS JAMES BRIDGE RESTORATION PROJECT Here is a bird’s eye view of the Thomas James Bridge Restoration Project – captured on drone footage by our talented team! It captures the line of waiting concrete trucks as we completed the mass concrete pour for the footing, as well as some of the plant from our fleet! This is a large-scale project, which from the roadside it is impossible to appreciate it’s size and scale, as we work to rebuild the retaining wall for the bridge. #delaneycivil #community #constructionindustry #heritage #bridge #historicalbridge #convictbuilt #restoration #history #iconic #construction #flood #floodremediation #concretepour #masspour
