We support Australians to have safe, secure and well-paid work with the skills for a sustainable future.
About us
Our mission is to support Australians in finding safe, secure, and well-paid work with the skills for a sustainable future. Secure jobs are vital for the prosperity of our nation, driving economic growth and providing certainty to individuals. In a rapidly changing world, our focus is equipping Australians with the relevant skills, knowledge, and experience needed to succeed in their careers, whether they are just starting, advancing, or changing their path. Our active efforts involve identifying skill shortages in industries, including emerging sectors crucial for the prosperity of businesses, individuals, and our country. We work towards filling these skill gaps to support Australia's economic growth. We support a world-leading vocational education and training sector that offer apprenticeships, cadetships, and traineeships, addressing future skill demands and ensuring better outcomes through an agile skills sector that aligns with market demands. We take pride in supporting local, safe, and secure employment, underpinned by a safety net of pay, conditions, and workplace rights and responsibilities, providing confidence for both employers and employees. Our strategic purpose is to foster a productive and competitive labour market, offering policies and programs that assist job seekers in securing work, meeting employer and industry needs. Additionally, we promote growth in economic productivity and social well-being by providing access to quality skills and training, facilitating job growth, including secure work, and promoting fair, productive, and safe workplaces. The revised Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) are now available! Changes to the Standards are designed to better reflect the diversity of the VET sector and ensure they are fit-for-purpose across different RTO settings. This will also e revised provide a clearer and more direct link between the requirements RTOs are expected to meet and the outcomes they are expected to deliver. The Minister for Skills and Training, The Hon Andrew Giles, MP said, “Revised standards will ensure students and employers can have confidence in a VET system that will deliver the high-quality training required to equip them with the skills needed.” The revised Standards will come into full regulatory effect from 1 July 2025. The Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) 2015 will apply until then. Get to know the revised Standards by clicking here 👉 https://lnkd.in/gFXG-xuG

Thank you Dr Subho Banerjee for being our inaugural guest to kick-start the #TeamDEWR Connect series! 🎉 To challenge thinking and engage people in new ideas, our Expert Insights webinars gives #TeamDEWR members the opportunity to learn from thought leaders and access valuable insights to deep dive into key issues. As Deputy Commissioner, Head of #APSacademy and Capability at the Australian Public Service Commission, Dr Banerjee discussed the unique challenges public servants face, the complex capability issues facing the #APS, and why it’s critical to foster a culture of learning in everything we do. Tackling these big questions, Dr Banerjee reminded us to remain curious, which is what we aim to spark with this series for our people! 💡
