Wow! The World Travel and Tourism Council Global Summit this week (8-10 October) brought global leaders together here in Perth to discuss tourism, trade and travel. This event showcased tourism investment and aviation opportunities to key decision makers in the travel industry as well as more than 50 global and domestic investors. Over 800 attendees registered to attend this event in person and over 1250 delegates joined online. The Tourism Western Australia WA team delivered 15 famils to drive bookings and exposure for 50 tourism operators. They also worked with more than 60 international journalists on editorial opportunities to profile our State as a tourism destination.
What an incredible few days it has been, hosting the World Travel & Tourism Council Global Summit in Perth/Boorloo. Highlights of the Summit included: - Hearing from headline speaker, the 68th United States Secretary of State, John Kerry, and beloved Australian environmentalist and television personality Robert Irwin. - Informative and inspiring presentations from prominent global business and travel industry leaders including CEOs from Tripadvisor, American Express, Trip.com and Intrepid Travel. - Showcasing Western Australia's unique Aboriginal cultural heritage as part of the Summit’s 2024 theme "Ancient Land: New Perspectives". - Tourism Western Australia Chair Di Bain joining an insightful panel discussion about the future of WA’s high-performing tourism workforce. - Facilitating several occasions for investors to discover more about the Dream State and the variety of investment opportunities available. - Hosting around 15 familiarisations before and after the event across WA, showcasing our passionate industry operators and their beautiful offerings to travel leaders and global media. We have had such an enriching experience, learning from and connecting with global leaders in government, tourism and trade over the last three days and we’re thrilled to be able to showcase #WAtheDreamState firsthand.
