Woolgoolga has been named the country’s best mainland beach on the 2025 Best Australian Beaches list. The list is compiled annually by Brad Farmer AM (MAICD), who is an Australian coastal veteran and one of Tourism Australia’s Friends of Australia. Mr Farmer said Woolgoolga on the NSW Mid North Coast was “blessed with varied beachscapes, lagoons, waterways and headlands to enjoy on a daytrip or an extended stay”. Caves Beach in Lake Macquarie also made the top 10, with its intricate network of sculpted sea caves that Mr Farmer said were “truly wondrous to safely explore on a low tide”.
