Our Vision: for Australia to become the World Leader in Disability Care.
About us
Our Vision: for Australia to become the World Leader in Disability Services MISSION: Provide a voice for the sector, increase professional standards and bringing people together to talk about the most pressing issues in our sector to deliver solutions! We’ll achieve this by providing world class expos, conferences and professional development to ensure Service Providers and Carers deliver the highest levels of service to NDIS Participants. We are fortunate to live in a developed nation where the government prioritises the needs of our valued families, friends and neighbours with disabilities. Despite the great work that the government is doing, they are only eight years into rolling out NDIS and it is still confusing, complex and challenging for people to understand what they can and can’t access, as well as for Service Providers and Carers to provide a world class service. Combining our 50+ years experience in the Disability and Training sectors, Developing Australian Communities team are simplifying the complex nature of NDIS. Through our large expos and conferences, Participants will receive the right information from the right Provider at the right time. Through our highly relevant, advanced and customised professional development training programs, we are partnering with Service Providers to ensure their staff embed behavioural changes that constantly improve the quality of care they provide.

Delays in SDA dwelling enrolment are creating significant barriers for participants, even when they have the necessary funding! Mak from Blossom Community Care explains that while participants find suitable homes, they’re often unable to move in due to slow processing times with the NDIS—sometimes up to eight weeks. This extended wait impacts not just the participants but also their families, who often lack the necessary support during this time. The effects are especially hard on those who need 24/7 care in specialised homes, as they’re left waiting without proper accommodations. Mak and the team at Blossom Community Care, are determined to change this. Their goal is to streamline the process and advocate for quicker enrolments, ensuring participants get into the homes they need, with timely support. Thankyou Envision Healthcare for sponsoring our Mainstage at this year's Melbourne Disability connection Expo, sponsored by Blossom Community Care When I first had the idea of creating huge community events instead of the stagnate expos we see every year, I had a vision for real celebration and connection. That is what we saw in Melbourne this year. So many cool groups and performances and so many photos to share! Keep an eye out for more to come. My fellow Cofounder Mike Clark and his media team are working though hundreds of photos and video and we will share them soon. Check out these legends from Diversity Models who delivered an awesome runway show both days at the 2024 Melbourne Disability Connection Expo, sponsored by Blossom Community Care This was all possible due to the support of our Main Stage sponsor Envision Healthcare. It was a pleasure to see so many people in our community that I have spent the last 30 years working with coming together. The 'nothing about us without us' slogan is so important now with all the changes happening in the sector. Melbourne as always was a fabulous community celebration and we are looking forward to next year! I know my feet are sore but getting better and the event team that packed it all up are almost all back home with just a couple of our crew still driving with the last of our things so we can get ready for Brisbane.
