⭐Designing and constructing facilities for NSW Police requires consideration of the unique needs of those who will be using the space – not just officers themselves, but also the local community they serve. So, what does that look like when catering to the needs of their furry, four-legged friends? 🐶👮♀️👮♂️ That was the challenge Downer faced when supporting the design and construction of the new Menai Police Dog Unit. 🚓🚨 Given the unique nature of the facility, Downer worked closely with the Police Command to understand the unique challenges and operational needs of the police K9s and their two-legged handlers. This collaborative approach supported a tailored design that enhanced functionality and efficiency, ensuring an optimal training environment for all. 🦴🐕 #Downer #Sydney #Police #EnablingCommunitiestoThrive Simon RoweRob NortonPaul MahoneySohan SarafAmir Elhagh

Since February 2024, our Dog Unit has been getting pawsome, much-needed pupgrade! 🐶🏠🐕🦺 Last Monday, we officially unleashed the new and improved facility, featuring new kennels, agility areas, staff facilities, security upgrades, and a special Honour Wall to remember the police dogs who served and have since passed. These fetching enhancements provide the best environment for training, recovery, and daily life—keeping our dogs fit, focused, and ready for duty! 🚔🐾

Economic growth stimulated through nation-building doesn’t just happen, it requires strong partnerships, long-term investment, and a shared commitment to delivering lasting infrastructure outcomes for communities. Last week, Murray Robertson, our Transport & Infrastructure Chief Operating Officer, joined industry leaders at the New Zealand Infrastructure Investment Summit in Auckland, where the role of Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) and sustained infrastructure investment in shaping New Zealand’s future was front and centre.   Murray said: “The conversations reinforced what we see every day: when the private sector, government, iwi and communities work together, we can deliver infrastructure that leaves a lasting legacy - creating stronger, more resilient communities and liberating economic growth for generations to come.”   “For Downer, being a contractor means taking responsibility not only for project delivery, but for contributing to Aotearoa New Zealand’s social fabric. Our approach to infrastructure investment reflects this: ensuring that local industry participation, workforce development, sustainability, and meaningful partnerships are embedded in every project.”   Key reflections from the summit: • PPPs can be a powerful tool for delivering complex projects efficiently, while ensuring long-term community benefits • Infrastructure investment is nation-building - supporting population growth, economic resilience, and social inclusion • True value comes when projects deliver environmental, social, and economic outcomes together • Collaboration between public and private sectors is essential to meet New Zealand’s infrastructure needs and future-proof our communities   Thank you to Prime Minister Hon Christopher Luxon, Christopher Bishop, and all those who contributed to these important conversations about New Zealand’s infrastructure future.

How does Downer stay ahead of risks while delivering lasting value to our customers and communities? In our series spotlighting Downer’s 10 Quality Principles, Andrew Erzikov, Head of Internal Audit and Assurance, shares insights on Principle #8: Risk and Opportunity Management. Assessing risk isn’t a one-off – it’s part of how we operate every day. Risk management is embedded in our daily operations. We consistently monitor our risk management plans and controls to give us confidence that we can prevent, mitigate and manage risks effectively. Our risk framework provides clear guardrails so we can focus on where it matters most – supporting safe, reliable outcomes for customers and communities. We take a proactive approach by: • Identifying and implementing critical controls • Verifying their effectiveness through audits and inspections • Reviewing controls after incidents to drive improvement • Keeping our teams trained and informed to manage emerging risks Because when risks are properly managed, the result is safer projects, stronger partnerships and resilient infrastructure. ⭐ "We’re a family company and everybody enjoys working with Downer. It feels like we’re nurtured.” That’s how Mara Marabani from Sydney Group Services felt when she and her husband became a Service Delivery Partner, helping us deliver on our Homes NSW contract. 🛠 It was stories like this that made our recent SDP Gala Dinner event at International Convention Centre Sydney (ICC Sydney) all the more memorable. Our team was honoured to be able to spend some time with all our partners who attended the event, which served as a reminder of the important partnerships that see us working as a team to ensure tenant’s needs are met. 🏡 We are proud to support our SDP network through continuous training, support and clearer visibility into their workflow, empowering them to make informed decisions that drive investment in their operations, their people, and their futures. It’s people like Mara and the rest of our amazing SDP network that ensure all our housing tenants and their wider communities can thrive. 👨👨👧👦 #Downer #Sydney #EnablingCommunitiestoThrive Paul Mahoney Michael Leggett Katrina Cousins

👋 Say ‘hello’ to our new apprentices that have recently commenced their trade journey at our Hexham manufacturing facility, just north of Newcastle. Downer welcomed four first year apprentices this year to Hexham, joining a cohort of 10 other apprentices currently completing their electrical, sheet metal and boilermaker trade qualifications. Each apprentice has taken a unique path towards commencing their trade journeys with Downer, but they all shared a genuine passion for the industry. Downer is proud of its long-term presence in the Hunter, where we have been partnering with our customers and investing in the region’s industrial and manufacturing capability for more than 100 years. Many of the region’s best and brightest started their careers at Downer and our apprentice program is an important part of the way we ensure critical skills remain in the local area. #WeLoveTheHunter

Rethinking traffic management: Safer, smarter, more efficient! Alongside our key partners Traffic Safe NZ Ltd and ARROWES | Roading Safety, Downer is redefining traffic management. On New Zealand’s largest maintenance project—NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi State Highway 1 Tīrau to Waiouru (T2W)—we’re taking a risk-based approach to Temporary Traffic Management (TTM). Aligned with the New Zealand guide to temporary traffic management (NZGTTM), we’re making TTM a flexible enabler of work. This innovative approach ensures our TTM design and delivery is effective, adaptable, and responsive to specific risks. By integrating risk-based solutions into our strategies, we maintain a balance of safety, efficiency, and quality while meeting project needs. Chris Seath, Project Director of T2W, proudly shares "Condensing four years of rebuilds is no small feat. By taking a risk-based approach and using cutting-edge TTM innovations, the team is making it happen. Tactical highway closures allow full-width work zones, removing the risks of live traffic. It’s not just about speed—it’s about safety and smarter thinking." Watch the video to hear from the experts behind this game-changing approach 👇 This isn’t just about ensuring road safety today—it’s about paving the way for the future of infrastructure delivery in New Zealand. Together, we are creating safer, more efficient roads. 👷♂️👷♀️ #TrafficSafe #SafetyFirst #T2W #Downer #Transport #Infrastructure #RiskBasedTTM #TrafficManagement #Conan #Arrowes #ESeries #NZGTTM #Downerroadsnz Dre McKeown Karl Hitchcock Rob Mackie Craig West @Betty Mitrova @Downer Transport and Infrastructure
