Vicki McAlister is proof that an admin role at EACH is anything but ordinary. "EACH is the first company that has truly invested in me as an admin," she says. From Excel courses and external training to specialised data training for financial counselling service Partners in Wellbeing, EACH has supported Vicki’s professional growth. Working in mental health inspired Vicki to expand her skillset and deepen her understanding of the challenges facing the people EACH supports. Through our relationship with Monash University she was one of hundreds of EACH staff invited to complete an online Undergraduate Certificate in Mental Health at no cost. With the support of her managers, team leaders, and colleagues, Vicki excelled — graduating with High Distinctions in all her subjects. “I’m always learning. My role is so varied, and I feel supported and cared for, not just professionally but also for my own health and wellbeing." 👉 Want to join our team and make a difference? Seventeen years ago, former Prime Minister Kevin Rudd delivered a historic apology in Parliament to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people on behalf of Australia. This pivotal moment acknowledged the grief and suffering inflicted due to Australian government policies, including the devastating forcible removal of children from their families and Communities. While the National Apology marked an important step toward truth-telling and reconciliation, words alone aren’t enough. The ongoing impacts of these policies are still felt today, highlighting the urgent need for meaningful action as we work toward healing and reconciliation. #Reconciliation #NationalApology

Women’s health is not difficult. The ‘secret’ to improving women's health is not mysterious. The funding announced this week by Federal Health Minister Mark Butler is proof – simple but effective measures to give more women access to basic health supports: ✅ Addition of new oral contraceptive pills and new menopause hormone therapies to the PBS, making them more affordable ✅ More bulk billing and bigger Medicare payments for IUDs and birth control implants ✅ More endometriosis and pelvic pain clinics like the clinic we run in Ringwood East, Victoria, and ✅ Pharmacy access for UTI medications and contraceptives. Being a woman shouldn’t be a risk factor for poor health. We’re working towards a future in which all women have the power to live well and these measures help. We acknowledge the Federal Government’s investment and particularly the work of Assistant Minister for Health and Aged Care, Ged Kearney 👏

At EACH, we’re committed to having evidence that our approach works – or proof that an approach needs to change. That’s why we are proud to announce our new 5-year research partnership with Monash University. Testing and evaluating services and service delivery is the obvious focus of our partnership, but that’s not all. We’re also increasing opportunities for EACH clinicians to be involved in research; and launching a multidisciplinary Clinical School to support Monash’s nursing, midwifery, and allied health students to do their clinical placements at EACH. Our collaboration with Monash, through its Rehabilitation, Ageing and Independent Living (RAIL) research centre, will upskill present and future clinicians and bring us one step closer to realising our vision – for a world in which everyone has the power to live well. The gender pay gap is finally getting more attention – rightfully so – but less talked about is the gender health gap. Every woman has a story of going to a doctor and having their concerns dismissed, their pain diminished, their chronic, debilitating symptoms minimised. “It’s just woman stuff, it’s normal.” “You’ll be right.” “You’ll just have to live with it.” “Nothing much we can do for that.” A combination of medical misogyny and barriers to accessing care mean that at all stages of life, women are at greater risk of ill health than men. The disparity is unacceptable, and the gap can be closed. Women deserve to be seen and heard, have our pain and experience validated, and receive empathetic, affordable care – so we’re pleased to see there are governments helping make this happen. I was thrilled to join Minister for Health Mary-Anne Thomas MP today in announcing the Victorian Virtual Women’s Health clinic, an initiative that will help address the gender health gap in Victoria. EACH has provided specialist women’s healthcare for nearly 20 years, and we look forward to supporting more Victorians to access this care through this free virtual clinic.
No one should experience poorer health outcomes because of their gender. Women, girls and gender-diverse people need to be heard, have their pain and experience recognised and validated, and receive empathetic, supportive care. Today, Victorian Minister for Health Mary-Anne Thomas MP announced that EACH will be delivering Victoria’s first ever Virtual Women’s Health Clinic. Through this new service we’ll provide free, specialist reproductive and sexual health care to women, girls and gender-diverse people across the state. From pelvic pain to menopause, contraception to cervical screening, this service will be accessible, culturally safe and judgment-free. We’re breaking down barriers that widen the gender health gap because everyone deserves access to the care and support they need to live well.

🌟Meet Gabrielle, a physiotherapist who's been making a difference at EACH for almost 20 years. For Gabrielle, it's the people that make EACH special. "Our team is tight knit, with shared values and a strong sense of support. Leaders and colleagues go above and beyond to understand and care for one another, creating a truly collaborative and fulfilling work environment." She is passionate about the variety in her role, working with clients aged 18 to 90+ years old. One of her proudest achievements is developing a unique aquatic physiotherapy program, particularly supporting clients with disabilities through the NDIS. "It's rewarding to provide a service that's not widely available and to mentor emerging physios to continue this work." Her career has come full circle, returning to her roots in disability support. "It's fulfilling to give back to the community that inspired me to become a physiotherapist, and even reconnect with clients I worked with 40 years ago." For Gabrielle, EACH is more than a workplace—it's a community where she can make a real difference.💜 #Physiotherapy #CommunityHealth #AquaticTherapy #CareerJourney

There is still a long way to go in Australia’s reconciliation journey. For many, 26 January is a reminder of harm and damage caused by colonisation, including continued disparity in health and social outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. We recognise the ongoing impacts of colonisation on First Nations people and are committed to walking alongside them to Close the Gap. We stand with and support our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander colleagues and customers who may find this day incredibly difficult. For staff that choose to do so, EACH provides an option to substitute this public holiday for another day.

💬 “Do you want to work on the past you can’t change, or use this moment to press the reset button?” For many men, asking for help when things get tough can be challenging. Family Relationship Counsellor Stephen works with men on hitting reset on their goals and focusing on the future. For many, those goals involved being the best version of themselves, whether it’s becoming a great dad, partner, or simply caring for their own wellbeing. Stephen’s advice? Self-care isn’t selfish; it’s essential. By taking care of yourself, you become better equipped to care for those around you. Did you know that loot boxes can expose children to gambling-like harm? With school holidays here, kids are spending more time gaming and for many games, loot boxes are part of the experience. 🎮 These randomised reward systems might seem like harmless fun, but they can pose risks, especially for young players. 💡 How to protect your child while they game these holidays: - Set spending limits or parental controls on gaming accounts. - Talk about the risks of loot boxes and how they work. - Encourage games that offer fun without exploitative mechanics. For more information, please reach out to gambling harm – support is available: call 1300 131 973 or email GHEIntake@each.com.au #Each #Gambling #ParentingTips #GamingSafety #LootBoxes #DigitalWellbeing #Gambling
