We recently welcomed our VP & GM for Europe & International Markets Oliver Klinck to Sydney. During his visit we gained insights from our overseas markets, showcased innovative work the eBay Australia team has in the pipeline, and held sessions with our sellers, buyers, and partners. Most importantly, as it was Oliver’s first visit to Australia, we introduced him to our “one team” culture - from our lunchtime Phat City Walks around the city to our Family Day, where we invite team members to bring their families to the office for activities ranging from a reptile show to a jumping castle. It was a great way to showcase Aussie hospitality and the special culture of the eBay Australia team!

Last week we attended the Auto Parts Recyclers Association of Australia (APRAA) conference where we connected with recycled parts sellers and learned about some of the exciting innovations driving this $2-billion industry forward. eBay’s Head of Auto Parts and Accessories Courtney Graham was joined by eBay sellers JJ Auto Parts and Tasmanian Auto Recyclers, demonstrating the online opportunity for recycled parts businesses. This was followed by a session with James Sheringham helping sellers get the most out of selling on eBay. The team also learned more about the positive impact these businesses drive for the environment with ~70% recovery rate of end of life vehicles, showcasing just how important continued focus in recycled parts in Australia is.

Congratulations to our 2024 graduates who recently completed their first rotation at eBay. Nanor Mouradian, Jacob Boghos, Chandy Jang and Margarita Christian recently shared insights from their first 6 months at eBay in a presentation to the team. 🌟 As part of our Grad Program onboarding, our grads get to visit eBay sellers to learn about their businesses, network with our team, meet our Authenticators at the authentication centre and complete an eBay selling challenge. Now they begin their second rotation in a new area of the business to immerse themselves in how we empower economic opportunity and support our buyers and sellers. Way to go, team! 👏 #LifeAtEbay  #EmergingTalent #eBayGradProgram

Last week we were lucky to visit one of eBay’s recycled parts sellers New Model Wreckers in Smithfield, Sydney. The eBay team had a tour of the facility and learned about the meticulous processes behind auto part recycling and how the parts find their new home. The Auto Parts Recyclers Association of Australia (APRAA) estimates that 100,000 tonnes of waste from end of life vehicles is generated annually. Sellers like New Model Wreckers not only help auto parts stay in circulation, saving them from landfill, but also save consumers money which is more important than ever during the current cost of living crisis. We are proud to partner with the tens of thousands of top rated auto parts and accessories businesses operating on eBay. Thank you to New Model Wreckers for lifting the hood on this innovative industry.

In the last few weeks, our team participated in #IAmRemarkable workshops, facilitated by Amy A. and Nanor Mouradian. These sessions were instrumental in honing the skill of self-promotion, an essential yet frequently underutilised tool in professional advancement. The ability to effectively communicate our achievements is not only a necessity for career progression, but a useful tool for inner-monologue. We were reminded that it’s not bragging if it is based on facts. 💼✨ Throughout the workshop, our team members were equipped with strategic approaches to confidently articulate their accomplishments and prepare them for mid-year feedback and evaluation sessions. Thank you to everyone who participated and the facilitators for making everyone feel comfortable to practise self-promotion without fear of judgement. #IAmRemarkable #CareerGrowth #SelfPromotion #ProfessionalDevelopment #NegotiationSkills
