Economics and Business Educators (EBE) NSW is an active professional teachers association, representing and supporting current and future teachers of the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) Economics, Business Studies, Legal Studies and Commerce courses. It was established in 1966 and is governed by a Board of Directors who are all educators. It is a member of the Professional Teachers’ Council NSW (the coordination and consultancy body for professional teachers associations in NSW) and also an affiliate member of the national subject association, Business Educators Australasia.

The Expression of Interest is now open for examination writers and double checkers for the 2025 EBE NSW examination papers. You are invited to apply to be an examination writer or double check for following examinations: HSC Business Studies, HSC Economics, HSC Legal Studies, and Preliminary Business Studies Examination writers will work with an EBE NSW Director between December 2024 and June 2025 to develop a quality examination paper, marking criteria and suggested answers. The double checker will ensure the examinations meet quality standards and will complete this task over a two week period in late June 2025. Payment will be a fixed amount of: Exam Writers - $2,000 for HSC Business Studies, HSC Economics, and HSC Legal Studies and $1,500 for Preliminary Business Studies. Double Checkers - $500 for HSC Business Studies, HSC Economics, and HSC Legal Studies and $400 for Preliminary Business Studies. Applicants are encouraged to submit a sample paper with one short answer question, marking criteria, and suggested answer to support their submission. This is to be emailed to admin@ebe.nsw.edu.au Payment will be made once all components are complete and signed off by an EBE NSW Director.
