NESA has released the new Commerce 7–10 Syllabus available at https://lnkd.in/gXXx5ZJ6 Schools can plan and prepare to teach the new Commerce 7–10 Syllabus from 2025. The new syllabus will be implemented in NSW schools in 2027

We invite you to share your feedback on the 2024 HSC Economics and Legal Studies Examinations through our short survey. https://lnkd.in/gSchYEn9 This information will be collated and common trends of concern and/or positive feedback will be passed onto NESA. Economics and Business Educators (EBE) NSW is an active professional teachers’ association, representing and supporting current and future teachers of the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) Economics, Business Studies, Legal Studies and Commerce courses. It was established in 1966 and is governed by a Board of Directors who are all educators. It is a member of the Professional Teachers’ Council NSW (the coordination and consultancy body for professional teachers’ associations in NSW) and is also an affiliate member of the national subject association, Business Educators Australasia.

Legal Studies teachers and students: The UTS Faculty of Law is inviting you and your year 11 and 12 Legal Studies students to an exciting event looking at AI and information integrity on Monday 25 November. The Expression of Interest is now open for examination writers and double checkers for the 2025 EBE NSW examination papers. You are invited to apply to be an examination writer or double check for following examinations: HSC Business Studies, HSC Economics, HSC Legal Studies, and Preliminary Business Studies Examination writers will work with an EBE NSW Director between December 2024 and June 2025 to develop a quality examination paper, marking criteria and suggested answers. The double checker will ensure the examinations meet quality standards and will complete this task over a two week period in late June 2025. Payment will be a fixed amount of: Exam Writers - $2,000 for HSC Business Studies, HSC Economics, and HSC Legal Studies and $1,500 for Preliminary Business Studies. Double Checkers - $500 for HSC Business Studies, HSC Economics, and HSC Legal Studies and $400 for Preliminary Business Studies. Applicants are encouraged to submit a sample paper with one short answer question, marking criteria, and suggested answer to support their submission. This is to be emailed to admin@ebe.nsw.edu.au Payment will be made once all components are complete and signed off by an EBE NSW Director. The Economics and Business Educators (EBE) NSW seeks members' feedback on two draft syllabi released by NESA today: Economics 11–12 Legal Studies & Law and the Community Life Skills 11–12 Feedback is sought through a short survey. As your teacher association, we represent you and want your feedback on the draft syllabus. EBE NSW will collate and analyse members’ data, identify key themes and submit these to NESA.
