  • Jon Ansell and Kylie Whittaker took the Edge Educational Series roadshow to a packed house in Darwin today - as we explored the growing trend of psychological and secondary psychological claims in the NT Scheme and the associated higher average costs & durations; which are in turn pushing employer premiums up. The complimentary sessions - the WA edition was held in Perth earlier in the week - focused on "Rethinking the Return-To-Work Process", through examining the Switzerland Workers’ Compensation Model; and the learnings we can take from this model to improve claim performance. #workerscompensation #psychologicalhealth

  • Widely regarded as the best social insurance scheme in the world, the Switzerland Workers' Compensation Model maintains a focus on collaborative and tailored interventions modified to the worker’s needs and abilities; yet it is legislatively very similar to the Australian model. So what’s the difference? Join us in our complimentary February seminars in Perth & Darwin, as we explore the growing trend of psychological and secondary psychological claims in each state and the associated higher average costs & durations; which are in turn pushing employer premiums up. These sessions will focus on the learnings we can take from the Switzerland model to improve claim performance. We’ll look at some of the drivers behind why the Switzerland model has a 30% better RTW rate than here in Australia, over a comparative period. • Hello my network, I am very excited to be hosting an educational seminar in Perth on the Switzerland Worker’s Comp scheme and how we should be rethinking the Return-To-Work Process from their learnings. It would be great to have you come along on the 27th February for a free breakfast and also opportunity to network with industry peers. I’ll see you there!

📢 Good news, WA - Our Educational Series Roadshow is coming to Perth! At Edge, we recognise the very real way in which physical and psychological injuries can contribute to significant lost work time and productivity. Facilitating earlier return-to-work outcomes is key. Join our presenter Jon Ansell as we explore the growing trend of psychological and secondary psychological claims in the WA Scheme and the associated higher average costs & durations; which are in turn pushing employer premiums up. • Hello my network, I’m very excited to be presenting an educational session in Darwin on the 29th February on the Switzerland Workers Compensation model - widely regarded as one of the best in the world - and the learnings we take from this and bring into our RTW practices.

During the return-to-work process, workers with access to a supportive personal network have better outcomes. It helps to generate belief in their ability to achieve goals and fosters a stronger expectation of recovery. Through Edge's Return-To-Work Support Network Pilot Program, we aim to demonstrate how next-of-kin involvement in the process can expedite the return to productive employment. • We were very proud to join our client GenusPlus Group toward the end of last year as they were announced winner of the Workers’ Compensation & Injury Management category in the 2023 WHS Awards - a program run by the WHS Foundation in partnership with CGU Insurance, which recognises and rewards individual and organisational effort & achievement in improving work health and safety. In particular, the award is presented to an organisation that has introduced an initiative or program to effectively manage workers' compensation claims and effectively manage injuries, both work and non-work-related. This is where Edge came in: the Return-to-Work support program we initiated and worked alongside Genus to implement was judged to be a key factor in the decision process. Edge provides a broad range of injury management assessment and intervention services, delivered by our experienced allied health professionals. Our team can assist in solving the problems and overcome the barriers that may prevent an injured worker from returning to productive employment, through strategic resolution practice.   This award was won among a very competitive field; in all there were 120 entrants, 50 finalists and 18 winners across the various categories; all leading the way to safer & healthier workplaces. Congratulations to Genus and all the other worthy winners. Jon Ansell #whsfoundation #whsawards #returntowork #injurymanagement
