Yesterday, some of the Edmen crew swapped their desks for dirt and spent the day volunteering at Green Connect Illawarra - an incredible 11-acre urban farm and social enterprise dedicated to sustainable farming and providing employment opportunities for people with barriers to employment - including young people, refugees, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Green Connect is powered by volunteers, so it was great to get stuck into something that gives back to both the land and the local community. 🌱🧑🌾 #SustainableFarming #GreenConnect #Illawarra

Working with young people, especially those who have experienced trauma, requires more than just structure and routine. It takes connection, trust, and understanding. That’s where PACE comes in. Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, and Empathy (PACE) isn’t just a framework; it’s a mindset that helps shape every interaction. It helps youth workers create safe, supportive spaces where young people feel heard and valued. We sat down with Edmen Training & Wellness Coordinator, Nikkia Gillies, to explore how PACE can be applied in youth work and why it’s such a powerful tool for building trust.
