SA’s clean energy transition shaped by female power. ‘Female power’ is shaping South Australia’s clean energy transition and the previously male-dominated energy industry as well. This significant industry change was on full display during yesterday's panel discussion led by Professor Ross Garnaut at the Women in Energy forum in Adelaide, hosted by ElectraNet Pty Ltd. and ZEN Energy's Women's Network ElectraNet Empower and ZEN-A. Three of South Australia’s most important energy organisations — ElectraNet Pty Ltd, South Australian Chamber of Mines & Energy (SACOME), and the Office of Hydrogen Power South Australia — have women in their most senior leadership positions. These key leaders spoke to a packed room of attendees from across the energy sector, discussing the challenge of transitioning to a greener grid. Special thanks to our stellar panel Phillipa Ou Chen Chen, ZEN CFO, SACOME's CEO Rebecca Knol, Nicola McFarlane, COO, Office of Hydrogen Power South Australia and ElectraNet's Chair Dr Julie Beeby and ILA venue for the hospitality. At ElectraNet we are proud leaders in the clean energy transition which is why it was fantastic to host Premier Peter Malinauskas at our September Board meeting. The Premier briefed our Board on the State Prosperity Project and spoke about South Australia’s bold plans for economic growth and the critical role of renewable energy. As electricity demand grows in South Australia, ElectraNet will continue to be a key enabler to unlock renewable energy projects to ensure we meet that demand. There are significant opportunities for South Australia, and we are committed to working collaboratively with the State Government and industry to make sure we make the most of them.

A big shout-out to the ElectraNet team members who volunteered at the Foodbank SA & NT exhibition as part of the Yellow Brick Road during the Royal Adelaide Show.    Thank you to the Foodbank SA & NT team for giving our ElectraNet volunteers the opportunity to support your important work in helping raise awareness about food insecurity and providing essential resources to families across the state.   It's moments like these that remind us of the power of community and the impact we can make when we come together.

We are excited to announce The Eyre Peninsula Project has been awarded the South Australian Chapter of the Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM) - Project Management Achievement Award (PMMA) in the ‘Sustainability’ award category.   Through the Project ElectraNet improved the reliability of power supply to the Eyre Peninsula region, by replacing the pre-existing high voltage transmission line and providing additional capacity to boost economic development and connect new renewable generation investments on the Eyre Peninsula.   This complex project traversed remote and diverse landscapes, including pastoral stations, conservation parks, broadacre farming and rural living. Each landscape posed unique challenges with varied stakeholder concerns. Following two years of construction and over five years of planning, the new line began powering the Eyre Peninsula in February 2023.   Key project achievements included reducing native vegetation clearance by 76%, minimising impacts on species protected by the EPBC Act and award-winning preservation of cultural heritage.   This recognition is a result of the hard work of the Project team and ElectraNet's commitment to sustainable development.
