Thanks to the #EU for recognising Elementos Limited’s Spanish #Tin project investment at its #CriticalMineral function at the International Mining and Resources Conference (IMARC) conference in Sydney today. The importance of Australian investment and mining expertise being directed into the European Union was clearly highlighted - as well as investment by the #EU into the Australian mining sector. At Elementos Limited we are proud of the investment and dedication to establish our Oropesa Tin Project in Andalaucia Spain, as the only independent mine-to-metal tin supply within the European Union.

Andalucia is THE major mining region of Spain, and is rapidly becoming one of the most productive mining hubs within the #EU. #Tin and the Oropesa Tin Project have a high prominence in the region, supported by the Junta de Andalucía which supports the project through the Project Accelerator Unit (Unidad Aceleradora de Proyectos) For more information on the rapid growth in major projects in Andalucia, the following article is a great read: https://lnkd.in/gzuDFxfJ

This article highlights how geopolitical instability is driving demand for #critical #metals such as #tin and #tungsten which are essential to modern warfare. It is interesting to learn about how defence relies on critical metals for many different applications. #Tin - The Backbone of Military Electronics #Tin plays a critical role in the defence sector, particularly in the production of #solder for #electronics used in communication systems, radar, and advanced weaponry. The military’s reliance on advanced electronics makes #tin an indispensable metal. #Tungsten - The Armor-Piercer With its exceptionally high melting point and density, #tungsten is indispensable for manufacturing armor-piercing projectiles and aerospace components. Its heavy density makes it ideal for penetrating armor, giving it a strategic edge in combat. Elementos Limited's projects have significant tin and tungsten resources ready to meet the worlds growing demand. https://lnkd.in/gKWTjx2U

And what of that #tin market? It may not grab the headlines like #copper and #lithium, but #tin has emerged as a major beneficiary of the dominant investing themes of the 21st century – energy transition, electric vehicles, #AI and tech. Since #lead solder was banned in 2003, #tin has been the dominant material used as the glue for electronic circuitry, making up over half the metal’s end market. But production has been faltering. A coup in Myanmar has seen the dominant refiner China lose access to 40% of its imports, while alluvial fields in Indonesia are becoming less productive. Legacy fields where pegmatite mineralisation is common have become tantalum and lithium producers, with only one substantial new hard rock operation – London-listed Alphamin’s Bisie in the DRC – opened in recent years. While other battery metals have been smashed into submission in 2024, #tin prices are around 25% higher currently than their average 2023 price of US$25,938/t, and sit marginally above the record average of US$32,384/t in 2021. To capture the magnitude of the change in fortunes, prices never averaged more than US$21,899/t between 2014 and 2020, reaching a nadir of US$16,067/t in 2015. “It's hard to see where any new #tin is coming from. So with my very basic economics knowledge, if demand exceeds supply, price tends to go up,” Seckold quipped. Davies said China was now ‘very hungry for #tin concentrate, and so is the rest of the world’. Read the full Stockhead article here https://lnkd.in/gU9eXyBu

A great article from Bulls N' Bears via the Sydney Morning Herald https://lnkd.in/gRiyDqUu With the #antimony market booming and setting the share market alight, Bulls N’ Bears has gone looking for the next critical metal shouting out for attention from new technologies – and it could be #tungsten. In #Tasmania, Elementos Limited is busying itself with the Cleveland project. Drilling during the year was highlighted by a 1100m diamond hole that was aimed at identifying additional #tungsten, #tin, #copper and #fluorite mineralisation at the deposit, which already has 56,000 tonnes of #tin, 22,200 tonnes of #copper and 12,000 tonnes of #tungsten. The results announced at the beginning of this month have shined a significant spotlight on the “Foley Zone” #tungsten mineralisation ranging across a 465.9m section with continuous zones, including a 319.5m chunk averaging 0.18 per cent #tungsten. Higher-grade #tungsten zones of up to 1.6 per cent were also discovered, alongside valuable critical minerals such as #rubidium, #molybdenum, #bismuth and #fluorspar.
Could tungsten be the next commodity to go boom?

Elementos Limited attended it’s first MMH. Mining and Minerals Hall conference in Sevilla this week. #Spain and #Europe’s mining industry showed up in force making it a fantastic week of networking and promotion. Via our subsidiary Minas de Estaño de España which holds the rights over the Oropesa #Tin Project we presented, hosted and participated in many industry sessions. The particpation by the Junta de Andalucía (Andalucia Government) from Minsters through to Administrators was impressive and certainly shows a strong sign of support to the mining industry in Andalucia, Spain. We will be back.

Our Oropesa Tin Project has one of the world’s largest undeveloped, open-cut tin deposits, and is the only #tin project being actively developed within the European Union, with access to Spain’s world-class infrastructure. The project is at an advanced stage of development, significantly progressed through its DFS and working with the authorities to attain its major project approvals.
