New Disability Entrepreneurship Discussion Sheets logos | Using our graphic design/digital art subscription with the DesignGuru team, we asked them to create cover images for our LinkedIn and Facebook pages. We are absolutely delighted with their work and will probably ask them to do another couple of designs for future use. This work by DesignGuru has been part of the design subscription that we purchased from them using the philanthropic funding that we received from the TFN 2024 Brisbane crowdfunding event and from Outcomes Australia. We are grateful for their support, which have been helping us add polish to our platform and helping us scale. The work DesignGuru has been doing for us has been fantastic we highly recommend them for your next graphic design and digital art project. In our experience, having a subscription with them is cheaper and faster than engaging professionals to do individual projects. We are a disability-led and guided service. Brodie taking over operational work | As part of easing Gary out of the CEO role, Brodie is in and maintaining the continuity of service, Brodie has taken over posting items to the newsfeed and LinkedIn plus Instagram. We hope to set him up this week for Facebook and YouTube. He has also eased into the grant submission role. We recently applied for the Queensland Gives: General Fund Grant, which is worth up to $30,000. If successful, we will use these funds to build the platform’s capacity. This includes commissioning an NDIS consultant (Renee Baines of Blossom Consultants) to advise us on NDIS and disability advocacy matters. We also intend to use it to pay honoraria to our volunteers (most of whom live with disability, the rest are family members, carers or old friends of Australians with disability). The rest will be polishing our services and systems to support the Australian disability community better. We have observed before that too often, Australians with disability are expected to share their experiences, knowledge and needs for free and work on a voluntary basis.
