Six years ago, Endometriosis Ambassador Emma Watkins (formerly the Yellow Wiggle) was blindsided by an endometriosis diagnosis - having never even heard of the condition. Conversation, she believes, is one of the most pivotal parts of tackling endometriosis and debilitating reproductive conditions like it. The Hon Ged Kearney MP has listened to the intimate and often frightening stories from women across the country, especially those in rural and regional areas who struggle to access timely, specialised care for endometriosis. At the Women's Agenda event for Women’s Health Week, the Hon Ged Kearney MP and Labor shared that they have invested in 22 Endometriosis and Pelvic Pain Clinics to bring essential care closer to home. Endometriosis Australia at the Women's Agenda Health & Wellbeing Summit 💛 We were proud to attend alongside our ambassador, Julie Snook, for Women’s Health Week! Julie joined the panel to share her lived experience with endometriosis, having been diagnosed at 19 after years of pain growing up in country Australia. Since then, she has undergone many surgeries and continues to advocate for better healthcare access. Julie stated that “It’s ok to start conversations across the table.
