Our in-school Butterfly Effect programs provide useful strategies teens can use throughout their journeys, and is based on four key pillars of well-being: • Connection - facilitating the development of positive, healthy relationships and peer bonds (hence our focus on working with whole year groups, not individuals or small targets groups. We also explicitly teach conflict resolution skills, discuss healthy relationship indicators and red flags, facilitate peer affirmation activities etc). • Meaning and purpose - through workshops like Real Girl Power we highlight the role girls can play as activists. Enlighten days (and our core workshop in particular) also encourage girls to see themselves as a somebody, not just a body. • Agency - the capacity to make their own choices. We teach girls how to think, not what to think. • Altruism - workshops like our one on Gratitude encourage girls to look at ways in which they can give to others and be forces for good in their communities. #girlseducation #girlsempowerment #school #development #resilience

About us
NATIONAL AWARD WINNING IN-SCHOOL WORKSHOPS FOR TEENAGE GIRLS herever they look, teenage girls are bombarded by messages about what to eat, how to act, how to look, how to please someone and how to be liked. Popular culture, TV programs, magazines, movies and websites dispense information and so-called “advice” to girls at a critical time in their development, when they are still in the process of forming their own attitudes. Enlighten workshops cover everything from helping girls discover their own inner beauty and understanding what they see in media often isn't real; to managing friendships and conflicts. Discovering the benefits of positiveness & gratitude to setting safe personal boundaries. Rather than telling girls what to do, we focus on informing, inspiring and empowering them. We encourage girls to be discerning consumers, critical thinkers and to find their own voice and power in a complex world. The workshops also provide tools for learning and change, and leave the girls with on-going strategies to ensure the lessons learnt will be long remembered. Created by experienced educator Dannielle Miller, a best-selling author and well-known media commentator, Enlighten has a proven track record of success. Combined with the caring support of our stellar presenters, girls develop self-esteem and confidence – and they begin to shine! Our mission is to create and deliver informative, engaging and affirming in-school workshops. Choose from The Butterfly Effect, Girl Essentials, Love-ability and Gratitude. We believe we can, and do, make a difference and we want to partner with every school in delivering exceptional pastoral care and welfare programs that address the needs of the school’s female students. Our amazing testimonials from both teachers and teenage girls identify just how much they are impacted by our Enlighten programs!
