Delivering ENVISAGE workshops for parents and caregivers of children with disabilities or developmental concerns.

About us

Welcome to ENVISAGE Families, where hope and support come together to create a powerful community. We understand the unique challenges of parenting a child with a developmental concern or disability, and our mission is to provide you with a compassionate space where you can learn, grow, and find the resources you need to thrive. Together, we can build a community of empowered parents, caregivers, and families who support one another on this incredible journey. ENVISAGE-Service Providers (ENVISAGE-SP) is an adaptation of our ENVISAGE Families program for service providers (SP). By SP we mean the people who provide health, education, and disability services to children with disability or developmental concerns and their families. The program was co-designed by service providers, parent/carers and researchers in Australia and Canada. We created ENVISAGE-SP because the parents we have worked with over the years told us that a program like this was needed – to be a bridge between ENVISAGE for families and service providers. Parents valued the time they had for reflection and discussion in ENVISAGE Families, and hoped SP would also have this opportunity. ENVISAGE-SP aims to support SPs’ roles as knowledge brokers and implementers of contemporary evidence-informed ways of practicing by providing time and space to consider these key concepts, and issues, along with tools to use in their practice.

Kindred and Milton Therapy and Learning Centre are partnering to deliver Envisage to parents and carers of children with developmental concerns, delay and disability on the South Coast of NSW. Envisage Families is an evidence-based parenting program that provides practical tools and support for families. We are excited to facilitate these groups in the local community and help families make connections that last well beyond the five-week program! Do you know families on the South Coast who would benefit? Contact Bree at bree@kindred.org.au to chat! Congratulations to Envisage Families Queensland State Project Administrator, Aisling Ryan for her first published paper on a scoping review for clinicians and researchers to consider how children with disabilities can be actively involved in goal setting. This paper add: - Child-led approaches must respond flexibly to children's individual needs and strengths. - Child-led tools and approaches have utility across six distinct goal phases (DECIDE framework). - The DECIDE framework can guide clinicians and researchers in implementing child-led goal setting. - Clinimetric studies are needed to validate goal evaluation tools for child self-respondents. Well done!!
