Our #Darwin team recognised NT Mental Health Week with a morning tea last week featuring guest speaker, Justice Reform Initiative's Rocket Bretherton. Rocket, who spoke about her lived experience in the NT’s justice system and the overrepresentation of people with disability and mental health conditions in jails, is also a member of ermha365’s Lived and Living Experience Advisory Committee. Our refreshed HIVE in Noble Park was officially reopened last Friday by Tim Richardson MP, the Victorian Government’s Parliamentary Secretary of Mental Health and Suicide Prevention and Men's Behaviour Change. A grant from the Victorian Health Building Authority's Metropolitan Health Infrastructure Fund enabled essential refurbishments at HIVE – a dedicated space for group support and activities to improve mental health and community connections. The shop front, located on Buckley Street, was for many years, ermha365’s Op Shop.  People were drawn to the op shop because it was the only accessible, community-based location in the neighbourhood where mental illness got the focus it deserved.
