Here at Ethical Fields, we strongly believe that communities deserve a share of the benefits created by large developments like renewables. Community Benefit Sharing can look a varienty of ways - from traditional local grant making, to communities having a true economic ownership. For this wind farm development, not only with the Nari Nari Tribal Council be rewarded for hosting the infrastructure on their land, but they have also secured milestone payments, a seat on the project steering committee, and the option to invest up to $10 million of its own money to be an equity shareholder.

🌟 What an incredible experience to co-present at the Economic Development Australia Limited National Conference! A heartfelt thank you to EDA for hosting such an engaging platform for meaningful discussions on community-led economic development. 🙏 I was thrilled to present “Empowering Communities through Place Based Capital and Asset Ownership” and share how we are working with communities and partners to help them to activate local funding, assets and build sustainable, thriving economies. 🌍 It was an honor to share this space with Liz Webster from SGS Economics and Planning, who set the stage for an insightful breakout session and Paris Brooke (Wilderness Collective), Douglas D’Antoine (Bunuba Dawangarri Aboriginal Corporation), and Shannan Little ACEcD (Bass Coast Shire Council), who each brought inspiring examples of how communities are innovating, recovering and regenerating, from Bass Coast to Mallacoota to Fitzroy Valley and beyond. 🌱🏞️ Thank you to everyone who attended and engaged in rich discussions around place based capital, community wealth building and local resilience. Let’s continue these important conversations and drive impactful, community-led change together! 💡🔑 #EDACONF24 #PlaceBasedCapital #CommunityWealthBuilding #EconomicDevelopment #SustainableCommunities
