Do I have to complete a daily check? Simple answer is yes.   For those operators that are not in Maintenance management you are still required to demonstrate that a check has been carried out and records need to be maintained to show you have met your Chain of Responsibility (CoR) requirements under the Heavy vehicle National Law (HVNL). If you are in the Maintenance Management scheme you are required to complete a daily check each calendar day a vehicle is used and records must be kept to present to an auditor to verify you have met your obligations under the standards.
