Business Analyst @ Hutly | Product

On a Tuesday morning, amidst the exciting preparations for a new product launch, we received the shocking news that our company which spun out of #Elabor8, will shut down. As a Product Manager, I am good at pivoting with new information, but this one I did not know how to process! It has been a month since the shutdown, a month since I've been laid off from my Product Manager role, a month since I've been unemployed. And it's just shattering. Over the last 3 years, I've stepped up as a product manager, a product owner, a business analyst, a product designer, a customer success advocate and even a salesperson for enterprise SaaS products. I led a high performing and passionate digital product team towards product-market fit in demanding environments. Our mission was to empower agile delivery teams, revolutionising how they deliver value through end-to-end visibility into product delivery flow, enabling data-driven governance and actionable insights across complex ecosystems. I drove the increase in user growth and customer engagements by championing customer needs, navigating complex trade-offs, and rallying cross-functional teams with a focused vision, relentlessly iterating until we launch products that our customers become passionate about. This job provided me with invaluable experiences and learnings. I got the chance to work with big thinkers, innovators and amazing individuals who were masters in their field and created magic when we worked together. Although this chapter is closed, our work continues as an open-source project (falcon-metrics; a Flomatika project) that anyone can leverage. Now, I'm eager to use my skill set and expertise towards other emerging or established digital and software products in the ever-evolving tech landscape. I am #OpentoWork, and I am reaching out to my network here for a bit of help in my job hunt journey. Some actions will go a long way: 🚀 Please Comment / Reshare / React to this post for better reach. 🚀 If you know someone hiring, please tag them in the comments. 🚀 Please share or tag me in job postings where you think I would fit well. 🚀 If you are hiring, let’s connect and have a conversation. 🚀 If you are familiar with my professional capabilities and work, I would highly appreciate a LinkedIn recommendation. 🚀 If you have any advice on how to navigate the job market, please share it with me, or if you know someone who could help me, I would be grateful for an introduction. 🚀 If you are keen on a coffee meetup (Virtual or In-person), whether we've crossed paths before or this would be our first interaction. Let’s schedule it! #product #productmanager #agile #productdesign

Anyone who’s worked with me will be aware of how much I bang on about the importance of metrics in #agile and #lean governance. For the last four years we’ve been trying to build a product that sits across the major tools and makes life easy for delivery managers and execs. Today we sadly called it quits on that journey, wrapping up Flomatika due to an inability to nail product / market fit before we ran out of funds. To quote a conversation with Nigel Dalton, sometimes being early and being wrong feels the same. There’s been an extraordinary amount of passion and hard work poured into the product by Marcio Sete and our great delivery team - Ann Katherine Mantele , Arushi Kumar , Meghashyam Sateesh , Shishir Dongre and Emily McMahon - and we don’t want that going to waste. Additionally, the problem of surfacing delivery metrics in a humane fashion hasn’t gone anywhere. And finally, the agile community has been great to us. So…. we’re throwing what we’ve built open to the broader agile community to pick it up and run with it. falcon-metrics; a Flomatika project is an open source project containing everything you need to extract data from delivery tools, aggregate it meaningfully using the interestingly pronounced FQL, and produce awesome dashboards that will make your executives do happy dances. We hope the community runs with it, that it solves challenging problems, and spawns a whole bunch of cool applications that we could never think of. If you could share this with your networks we’d really appreciate it! Big thanks to John Tooth who has expertly managed this process whilst also producing a lovely looking human.

  • After 4 years of working in the Value Stream Management space, it’s with a heavy heart that we announce the news of Flomatika’s closure, with our operations ceasing from 10th May. The journey of entrepreneurship is filled with twists and turns, and though we've celebrated victories, we've also encountered tough challenges that have led us to where we are now. We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to every team member, partner, and customer who has played a role in our journey - your support and involvement have been invaluable to us. However, it is not all doom and gloom. Flomatika’s Loupe and Flow Analytics tools are still accessible via open source. Here is where you can access the files: https://lnkd.in/eD548i_h Thank you again for being part of our journey. #valuestreammanagement #thankyou #opensource #publicaccess

  • We thought we’d take the time out to jump on here and give a MASSIVE shout-out to our fantastic tech team! Over the past few years they have developed an outstanding software delivery analytics suite, offering the highest quality insights whilst helping tech leaders achieve transparency across their software delivery. This, coupled with the fact that they were able to make the move to a public open source format in just a matter of weeks, is a truly remarkable achievement and we couldn’t be prouder. So join us in saying an enormous thank you to Ann Katherine Mantele, Arushi Kumar, Meghashyam Sateesh, Shishir Dongre and Emily McMahon - you smashed it! P.S. If you’d like to access the Falcon Metrics project, it will be available on open source from 8th May(!!). #deliveryanalytics #thankyou #opensource #shoutout #softwaredelivery

  • Flomatika is thrilled to announce that we are currently in the process of moving to a public open source format! This means that after the 4 years of work we’ve put into our software, we are ready to share our know-how by making our software publicly accessible. Users will be able to modify and share the source code from our Loupe and Flow Analytics tools, including all the production functions currently used by our customers. We can’t wait to see the innovation that will be generated from this move and hope that the increased transparency provides some benefit to you too! When will it be ready? A selected group will be provided early access this week, but everyone will be able to access it on the 8th of May. Got any questions? Let us know in the comments below #opensource #innovation #increasedtransparency #publicaccess #coding

Here are 5 things I'd really like to see people use Flomatika's upcoming open source project for; 1) Wedge the calculations between your Jira/AzureDevOps instance and your data visualization tool (PowerBI, Tableau etc). Especially if you're trying to compare things like flow efficiency from teams that work in different timezones or get aggregated views of multiple teams. 2) Modify Loupe's Monte Carlo simulation so you can forecast the delivery date of candidate projects. Today our 'what-if' simulation has a bunch of assumptions that change the forecast. This is really helpful for in-flight initiatives but would need some tweaks to be useful during the business case/ investment phase. 3) Use the workflow lag finder. I've also at the data from teams, portfolios and agile release trains all over the world and in different industries; nearly every one of them is missing an efficiency opportunity due to a hidden governance process. The lag finder helps you find and improve these. 4) Use Loupe's virtual obeya to measure how projects contribute to OKRs. If your OKR tracking isn't measured through data that represents work, then you're not "tracking" anything - you're guessing. 5) Create push alerts for waste thresholds using the API's. Most of the metrics in the 'Continuous Improvement' section of the platform are number you want to respond to if they get too high.

  • So you’ve finally got your value stream all set up, but how do you know whether it’s all running smoothly and optimally… or not? To help you figure out whether your value stream is operating on the unhealthy side and is in need of some TLC, we’ve put together a list of the warning signs to look out for - after all, it’s better to catch an issue sooner rather than later. #valuestreammanagement #agiletransformation #continuousimprovement
