Football NSW is pleased to announce a range of scholarships to provide opportunities and increase the representation of First Nations participants in the game. Developed in conjunction with the Football NSW Indigenous Advisory Group, applications are now open for player and coach scholarships, with referee scholarships to be released in future weeks.

Over 100 guests celebrated what was a successful year at the 2024 Football NSW Referees Branch awards night last Saturday at Doltone House, Jones Bay Wharf. Story below.

Following on from a successful Football NSW State Dinner held last Saturday has come the news that two new awards will be presented at next year’s spectacle. Story below.

Football NSW’s State Dinner was held at the Novotel at Sydney Olympic Park in what was a great celebration of community football with Eurobodalla Football Association’s Sue Badenoch Kinsey awarded the prestigious George Churchward Medal. Full Story and list of winners in the below link.

JUNIOR DEVELOPMENT LEAGUES The Junior Development Leagues (JDL) will be introduced in 2025, replacing the Skill Acquisition Program (SAP) and Girls Skill Acquisition Program (GSAP) that have previously existed. The Junior Development Leagues will be known as ‘Mixed JDL’ and ‘Girls JDL’. The implementation of the JDL aims to create a line in the sand whereby Football NSW’s approach to the program evolves towards a stronger focus on Club capability building, the sharing of best practice program elements and the accountability of Clubs and Football NSW to each other. Football will be heavily represented at the 2024 NSW Champions of Sport Awards, with six finalists named for November's Ceremony. Central Coast Mariners (Men's), Indiana Dos Santos, Emma Kocbek, the NSW Para Football team and the FNSW Coaching Conference are among the finalists, with Football NSW also proud to be in the running for Organisation of the Year. Club Changer - Parent Engagement Workshop Football NSW is hosting a parent education and support workshop with guest speaker Skye Eddy - founder of Soccer Parenting & the Sideline Project. Skye is considered a leading expert in youth sport parenting and will be delivering a 90-minute session for club and association representatives. It was an unforgettable 2024 Champion of Champions tournament for the Northern Suburbs Football Association (NSFA) who celebrated its five-title haul across two-action packed days at Football NSW’s Valentine Sports Park. Story below.

It was a memorable Champion of Champions Finals for Eastern Suburbs Football Association (ESFA) side Coogee United Football Club who etched their name in the Football NSW history books becoming the first team to win both the All Age Men’s and All Age Women’s finals at Valentine Sports Park.
