Ranger PHEV has generated huge interest among Ranger owners and many Aussies who are new to the Ford brand, but getting interest from within the corridors of Parliament House in Canberra is something a little different.   Last week, Ford took a Ranger PHEV prototype to Parliament House for an event hosted by the National Automotive Leasing & Salary Packaging Association | NALSPA, and the Parliamentary Friends of EVs. For attendees, making EVs available, accessible and appealing to Australians was front of mind, with plug-in hybrid electric technology a perfect solution for many motorists.    Ford Australia’s contribution to the conversation was how Ford’s focus with Ranger PHEV is to develop an EV for Aussies who need the capabilities that a ute offers. Ranger PHEV has everything a ute buyer needs – towing, 4X4 capability, flexibility to be used for work, family and fun – along with the gains that even your standard Ranger doesn’t have, like being able to power your tools or campsite using Pro Power On Board. It was fantastic to talk about our no-compromise approach with the enthusiastic NALSPA team and friends.    The Ford Ranger is Australia’s #1-selling vehicle, and with 70% of Ford customers using their vehicle for work, offering a no-compromise PHEV ute (and indeed, one that has additional benefits) opens up many opportunities for small-medium and large businesses to begin electrifying. It also gives real benefits to our many off-road customers, who can drive on electric around town and switch to petrol and use the Pro-Power On Board when they’re off road.   Thanks to National Automotive Leasing & Salary Packaging Association | NALSPA for the invitation and to the Parliamentary Friends of EVs for the great conversation. You’re not seeing things… this is a Ford Mustang Mach-E, our all-electric mid-sized SUV, and yes, that’s it decked out with emergency services-style decals.   In parts of Europe and the US, emergency services like police and even ambulance are using the Mustang Mach-E in their day-to-day work. Thanks to its speed and agility, Mach-E can help first responders get where they need to go as quickly as possible – good news for them and for the people who need their help. If you’d like to see it out in real life, take a look at this great video from Ford Europe: https://lnkd.in/gpeV4bvK   In Australia, Ford works with emergency services and other major fleet customers to meet their varied and unique vehicle needs, but it’s fair to say that turning up at fleet events with our Mustang Mach-E is something many don’t expect!   You can find out more about the Ford Mustang Mach-E below or contact our Fleet Team at askfleet@ford.com. https://lnkd.in/gnU6DWMv

Last week we were pleased to welcome a number of visitors to Australia, including Elena Ford, Chief Dealer Engagement Officer, and Kay Hart, President of International Markets Group. Elena, Kay and our dealers had great conversations about how customer needs are evolving, and how we can continue to improve their experience of our brand. An insightful discussion with the Women of Ford employee resource group, and a visit to the Design Centre, capped off the trip – thanks to Elena and Kay for joining us!

At Ford, we’re all about getting to know local communities, so with our ‘F-150 Catch of the Day Canteen’, we’re dropping into towns and cities along the Queensland coast! We’ve just had a great couple of weekends on the Gold Coast and in Brisbane, giving away free fish and chips, running a Catch of the Day competition, and having conversations about the F-150. We’re now heading north to Hervey Bay (Mon 7 Oct), Airlie Beach (Sun 13 Oct), Townsville (Sun 20 Oct), before a final stop in Cairns on Sat 26 Oct. If you’re in the area or have friends who like to fish, enjoy fish and chips or would just like to chat about the F-150, we’d be keen to have you along! It’s a long way from our team here in Australia, but today we’re excited that just a little something we’ve been working on - the Ford Ranger Plug-In Hybrid - is making its global debut at IAA TRANSPORTATION in Germany.   The Ranger PHEV delivers the benefits of electrification together with the hard-working performance that has seen it build a loyal customer base in Australia and around the world. We ensured our first PHEV pickup in Australia would be a hugely capable tool for work and off-roading, as well as a smart vehicle with the tech, connectivity and EV-only capability for family life.   Ranger PHEV’s Pro Power Onboard technology will support the pickup’s ‘work hard, play hard’ customers with the ability to power high-draw tools simultaneously on a job site or keep a fridge and lights running, and devices charged, while camping off-grid.   In addition to the PHEV Wildtrak, Sport and XLT series, Ford is introducing a PHEV-exclusive Stormtrak launch edition. The limited-run vehicle’s unique Stormtrak design features include a new Chill Grey paint colour, the practical Flexible Rack System, a luxurious cabin with unique finishes and more.   More details on the Ford Ranger PHEV are available on our website at https://lnkd.in/gidKtp2f

Ford Performance and Ford Australia are proud to present a mini-documentary that recounts our incredible battle for victory at the 2024 Finke Desert Race. The 13-minute video is a behind the scenes look at what it took to win the Production 4WD class at Australia’s toughest off-road race two years in a row. The full video is on YouTube here: https://lnkd.in/g8xSN5Vy Ford's class win at the 2024 Finke Desert Race completed a trifecta for the Australian developed and engineered Ranger Raptor, which also claimed first place in its class at the 2023 Finke Desert Race and 2022 Baja 1000. It wasn’t all smooth sailing though, with this year’s victory at Finke the toughest yet for the Ranger Raptor. The team had to overcome stiffer competition as well as a gruelling Finke track that pushed both driver and machine to the absolute limit. Special congratulations to everyone from Ford Australia who was involved in the racing effort. Not only were they able to bring home some extra silverware for the Ranger’s already crowded trophy cabinet, but they proudly showed the world exactly why the Ranger Raptor is an apex predator in its class. Ford employees from our hard working Product Development team were on the ground at Finke working on the racing program, and they have already taken lessons from the gruelling event and started implementing it for future products that will be available in a Ford showroom in the future. Watch the full video to find out how it all played out in the desert: https://lnkd.in/g8xSN5Vy
