FORM Structures is a structural and civil consulting engineering firm based in Melbourne working in the commercial, residential, education, retail and healthcare space.
Our approach is both responsive and integrated, offering practical and economical engineering solutions. We work with all construction materials and projects of all sizes as well as intricate bespoke projects such as glass structures.
Led by Barry Russell, FORM Structures’ methodology is simple yet creative.
The design process often starts with quick and concise hand drawn sketches outlining numerous engineering possibilities. Clients review concepts and informed decisions are then made on the best way forward for their project. The process is completed with clear and comprehensive documentation.
Fundamentals are always at the core of FORM Structures work, matched with the latest technologies. Experience has proven that our approach is superior in rapidly identifying the ideal engineering solution, while maintaining a high quality and standard of delivery at all times.
Our team is articulate and has a broad understanding of the construction processes. We have the in-house experience to manage the challenges of construction and design programming as well as a diligence to work within increasingly demanding deadlines.

CAPABILITY - Refurbishment Projects Over the last 13 years or so, we've completed a huge range of refurbishment projects across Victoria, in many sectors. From a design viewpoint, we have a pragmatic approach and make every effort to understand the original construction techniques and design standards of the period of construction. Each project is different and all have their own challenges - At FORM Engineers, we strongly believe in repurposing buildings if feasible, not continually demolishing and rebuilding - this saves materials and energy and is significantly better for the environment. Located on a heritage-listed dockside, Shed 21 is a storage shed adjacent to the Bolte Bridge. We completed a feasibility study to explore the possibilities for repurposing the space underneath and around the shed.
