Just another reminder of the importance of Agriculture in the world, and the power of social media in sharing its importance. We were humbled when we stumbled across an article in the latest Graziher magazine that had Felicity Burton saying that we were someone she looked up to! Felicity also delivers beef directly to consumers, working hard to spread the positive news about what we all love and do. You too are an inspiration Felicity! Give the write up from Mum below a read. She is very good with her words, and we are so fortunate to have such an incredible role model in her. If you follow us on Facebook and read the write up there you might have even spotted the little hint about us planning to do a Pink Box delivery round at the end of May 🤞🏽. Hope to see a few of you then 😉.

Print media is something you can actually feel the pages of and get lost in words and pictures. Graziher still arrives in our mailbox and makes it to the kitchen table. Yesterday morning when having a cuppa at smoko, I opened the latest issue that had just arrived. It was surreal to get to page 74 and read an article titled ‘New Horizons’ which is a series of interviews with women in beef. Felicity Burton, whom we have never met, was asked to name a woman in the beef industry she admired and why? To read that she loves following the Penfold girls from Four Daughters was surreal. It just blew us away. Social media has a role to empower others and is a way to share information and build a community. To see this article really bought home the power of social media and the importance of sharing why we do what we do. Everyone on the land has a story to tell and we need more of us sharing this so we can connect with others. We share our story so we can build our connections with those who live in the city. When we were delivering our pink beef boxes, we made incredible connections and really got to understand that consumers do want to know about life on the land, they want to connect and they do care about farmers and where their food comes from. We did make contact with Felicity, via social media, and it was great to hear that by following the girls, she gained the courage to get her family branded beef out there again. 👏 We will keep sharing and maybe others will too. Remember that a ripple can make a wave. We also want young girls to believe in themselves. You can do anything you want in life. You just have to be prepared to work hard to make what ever it is you want happen. Work ethic is key! Happy disposition is vital. A little more about why we do what we do. Promote agriculture for all. #fourdaughtersbeef #citycountryconnections #consumers #believeinyourself #havecourage #socialmediainfluences #socialmediainfluencer

Bon fixing the tyre that we punctured on Sunday! On international women’s day it’s wonderful to celebrate the women that life each other up. But now that IWD is over it’s important that we also celebrate the men in our lives that lift us up, challenge us, teach us and believe in us. We wouldn’t have all these skills without our Dad. We love you Dad. Thanks x #womeninag #fourdaughtersbeef #dadsofdaughters #foga #agriculturaljobs

Better late than never and our latest Sunday activity. Headed to town for wedding dress and bridesmaids fittings. Less than 2 weeks to go .. and lucky we know how to change a tyre. Would have been a bit easier in our work clothes. 😜 International women’s day was on Friday.

Did you know that beef producers in Australia have to go through desk audits? Audit day for LPA - The Livestock Production Assurance (LPA) program is the on-farm assurance program that underpins market access for Australian red meat. LPA National Vendor Declarations (NVDs) provide evidence of livestock history and on-farm practices when transferring livestock through the value chain. The girls manage all of this very well. They are required to scan electronic identification tags on a reader and upload these to the NLIS database. Paddock records and treatments are kept every time they put cattle through the yards. All ensuring Aussie beef is quality beef. Audits are completed by the next gen in this family. The process allows them to fully understand what quality assurance means. They are all over it. 👍 Australian Good Meat Meat & Livestock Australia AUS-MEAT Limited #fourdaughtersbeef #fourdaughtersburger #citycountryconnections #qualityassurance #audittime #aussiebeefthegreatest #aussiebeefproducers

An appreciation post for rain and drifters…. Bon went for a fly about in Snoopy on Saturday afternoon. The grass at the moment is the most magnificent green, the dams are full, and the air was smooth. You couldn’t get better flying conditions if you could order them. In the last photo you’ll see brown and green stripes. We managed to jag the right timing and cutter bar a few paddocks before we had the last big rain event. The idea of this is to bust the soil up to allow moisture in. We do every second strip so we still have grass until the grass has a chance to grow back on the strips that are cutter barred. Bert is a pretty handy man to have on the dozer! #drifterflying #womeninag #bushflying #fourdaughtersbeef #landimprovement #moistureretention #grassgrowth

Check out our mighty muster dog! Bo really is just a good buddy. Might be small in stature but big in heart. He is getting the job done with Matilda. They are moving some cattle from one pen to the next as the pen is ready to be cleaned. #fourdaughtersbeef #slimdusty #citycountryconnections #beef #minifoxterrier #bigshed #aussieag #outbackqueensland #outback #foodproducer #australiatotheworld @matilda_penfold

“That’s my daughter in the water, everything she knows I taught her”… Dan has certainly taught the girls a lot in their lives, he is so lucky that he gets to teach everything at least four times. Sometimes even 5 or 6 (when the girls forget and have to be taught again). Last week Dan taught Bonnie how to survey contour banks. They walked along and every 33 steps gained two centimetres of height. This was passing on skills that Dan learnt when he was 17 at Dalby Ag College. We tend to take the toilet paper, not for emergencies sake 😉, but to put under a rock or a stick to mark out where the contour banks should go. The toilet paper breaks down and doesn’t matter if it gets pushed up into the dirt. It is also light and flaps around in the breeze making it easy for the dozer driver to be able to see. Dan now only needs to teach this skill 3 more times! #thatsmydaughter #generationalskills #womeninag #dadsanddaughters #fourdaughters
