FREECITY GROUP welcomes the NSW Government's recent announcement of almost 500 new homes to be built over the Sydney Olympic Park Metro. "As the largest land holder in Sydney Olympic Park with options over a 2ha site adjacent to the Metro, Freecity look forward to developing a dynamic place making vision for this project". Steven Mann - Chief Strategy Officer commented. "We are eager to see the governments promised DRAFT 2050 Masterplan for the Sydney Olympic Park Town Centre and to working with SOPA and our team of world class urban renewal architects and place makers on the vision, for what will become one of the most connected Town Centre in Sydney. Building on the 2020 Sydney Olympics sports facilities and event venue legacy and the amazing 40ha Bicentennial Park our vision includes building world class build-to-rent homes with garden areas above an urban shopping centre, connecting the broader Sydney Olympic Park community with vibrant streets and lanes. We can start building thousands of homes from 2026 which can help deliver on the NSW Housing Accord target".
Sydney Olympic Park will undergo its biggest transformation since the 2000 Olympic Games with a tick of approval given to a new world class precinct at the new Sydney Olympic Park Metro Station. This new precinct will be made up of three buildings between 21 and 45 storeys, including more than 300 new homes, and a mix of commercial and retail uses expected to support hundreds of jobs. This approval cements our plan to support the delivery of well-located homes close to transport, jobs and amenities.
