A KNOCKOUT MONTH | To round out a month of catch ups, festivities and team building, our site and office teams took a break from the usual grind last weekend and headed to Rosehill Gardens for a fun day of horse racing. It was a great chance to ditch the hard hats, get together, and enjoy some friendly competition together. And to burn off the extra calories eaten at the races; some of our team followed this up with a team-building session at Undercard Boxing in Bondi. Jam-packed with punches, thrusters and burpees, it was a high-intensity session that reinvigorated both our mental and physical health. #team #teamwork #fitness #health #mentalhealth #company #culture #greatteam #backawinner

PROJECT AWARD | Fugen Constructions is excited to announce our latest project, revitalising The Tropicana Hotel, formerly The Heritage Hotel. The refresh will aim to preserve the hotel's unique character while enhancing guest experiences. PROJECT AWARD | School is back! After successfully completing the design and construction of Temporary Villages 2 and 3 for Trinity Grammar School, Fugen was invited back to deliver the design and construction of Temporary Village 1 (consisting of 20x classrooms, 3x staff rooms and amenities), together with a new Sports and Health Centre, Staff Common Area, and Pastoral Offices. Fugen will again collaborate with Trinity Grammar School and Bloompark Pact PM to deliver these works as part of the School’s Masterplan. Prioritising the safety of staff and students, Fugen will lean on our extensive live environment experience, completing the works across multiple stages, and scheduling all major disruptive tasks out of school terms. Due to be completed in January 2025, we are looking forward to another successful partnership with all our project partners. PROJECT AWARD | Building on our longstanding partnership with Ryan's Hotel Group, Fugen Constructions has been awarded the contract to refurbish The Ship Inn, a Sydney harbourside landmark, marking our 7th collaboration together. The Ship Inn has been in operation since 1936, and is located in one of the busiest and most iconic parts of Sydney. The heritage-listed building on the corner of Pitt Street and Alfred Street, Circular Quay was built over 120 years ago, in 1902. Fugen will work with our specialist contractors to restore the building’s façade, in keeping with the original Federation Free Classical Style design. Fugen will also undertake a strip out the existing venue, upgrade and expand the kitchen, install new bespoke joinery in the bar, create a new gaming room, and add new feature ceilings throughout. We look forward to revitalising The Ship Inn, blending historical charm with modern amenities, and ensuring it continues to be a go-to destination for locals and visitors alike. We are thrilled to share that Fugen Constructions has been engaged by one of Australia’s most celebrated theatre companies, Belvoir St Theatre in Surry Hills to deliver a refurbishment to their space. Belvoir St Theatre has been at the forefront of Australian storytelling for the stage, and we are honoured to contribute to their iconic space. The scope of works includes a refurbishment of the foyer common area, gallery level and green room along with upgrades to the foyer’s amenities. Our collaboration began with an Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) process, working closely with Belvoir St Theatre, TKD Architects and Bloompark Pact PM during the initial design phase of the project. This allowed the opportunity for Fugen to offer input on buildability, staging, and explore value engineering opportunities. Last Friday, Fugen Constructions and some of our valued partners attended Open Support's annual May Fundraising Lunch. This event raises money and awareness for their crisis accommodation services for women and children fleeing domestic abuse. We heard stories from those positively affected by the help of Open Support, and CEO Katie Viviers shared the great impact Open Support has had within our communities. With domestic abuse rates increasing, the work of organisations like Open Support is more critical than ever. Their long-term support services and short-term accommodation has achieved a high success rate in preventing women from returning to their perpetrators.
