Want to discuss a federal grant for your Victorian food business? 🤎💲 Australian federal government officials develop grant opportunity guidelines for all new and revised granting activities. A 'Grant Opportunity' is a collective term to describe any grant round, invitation to apply or other such time when an applicant can be considered for a grant as defined under the Commonwealth Grants Rules and Guidelines ('CGRG's). Grant Opportunity Guideline Templates - The CGRGs outlines the types of selection processes available and provides information on each type of grant opportunity. Grant opportunity guidelines must be consistent with the CGRGs and be published on site such as 'GrantConnect'. Like the CGRGs, the PGPA Rule sets out requirements for written guidelines, which also must be published on GrantConnect. Corporate Commonwealth entities are encouraged to use these templates to provide consistency and as a better practice guide when preparing grant guidelines. Training in HACCP in food manufacturing: We know HACCP stands for Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point. Food safety programs are designed to help businesses identify and manage hazards to food safety. Most licensed food businesses in Victoria must develop and implement a documented food safety program (FSP), particularly food manufacturers and processors. This depends largely on the food sector, for example, "meat", "poultry", "fish" and "dairy" are very strict. Food safety programs are based on Codex Alimentarius Commission’s HACCP system and guidelines. HACCP originated in the 1960’s, when the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), the Pillsbury Company, and the U.S. Army Laboratories collaborated together to provide safe food for upcoming space expeditions. Associated Food safety programs which are HACCP-specific typically focus on: -Identifying potential hazards that may occur in all food handling operations carried out in the business. -Identifying where these hazards can be controlled and monitoring these control methods. -Providing corrective actions when a hazard is found to be not under control. -Establishing, documenting and verifying detailed pre-requisite programs be regularly reviewed for adequacy (at least every 12 months).     In Victoria, food businesses should keep a record and retain copies of action taken demonstrating compliance with the food safety program and ensure it is audited by a food safety auditor. HACCP is central to accredited food processing qualification delivered under the Victorian Government's Skills First program, and funding can be secured in some circumstances (in full or as a refresher). #innovation #productivity #technology #melbourne 😊

Access grants for your food business or food startup (how to get it right) Government grants can be a powerful tool for your business. They can be the catalyst you need to grow faster. They can also give you the additional resources you need to tackle innovative business challenges. Before you can win with grants, you need to find them. The reality is it can be tricky to pinpoint the grants to help your food business or innovative food startup. Where do I look for and find grants? Before you start, it’s good to understand the different types of grants and where you might find them. Government grants are issued at either federal, state, or local gov level. Finding a list of federal grant opportunities is simple, thanks to the Australian Government’s 'GrantConnect' search engine. Federal grants are usually the biggest and often most competitive grants of all, so it pays to be across the latest updates. On GrantConnect, the list of grant opportunities defaults to sorting the grants that are closing soonest, with ongoing grants at the opposite end of the list. You choose several different ways to sort the list including by the issuing agency, close date, or primary category. If you know which government agency or category your grant is likely to fall under, these are good ways to quickly find relevant opportunities. https://www.grants.gov.au/ #innovation #Whatinspiresme #Womeninscience #technology #India #future #melbourne #breaking 😀

Food Businesses: Are you aware of the rules around government grants in AUST? Grants provide significant benefits to many Australian small business, through the Government working in partnership with individuals and organisations to deliver outcomes. Grants are also used to achieve government policy objectives, involving the payment of billions of dollars each year to the non-government sector, including food companies. The Australian Government grants policy framework applies to all non-corporate Commonwealth entities (entities) subject to the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013 (PGPA Act). The Commonwealth Grants Rules and Guidelines 2017 (CGRGs) establish the Commonwealth grants policy framework. The CGRGs contain the key legislative and policy requirements, and explain the better practice principles of grants administration. The CGRGs apply to grants administration performed by ministers, accountable authorities, officials and third parties who undertake grants administration on behalf of the Commonwealth.
