Perfect timing is wonderful thing! Our Melbourne Distribution Centre team were thrilled to recently welcome some Genuine Parts Company (Atlanta) board members together with some of our GPC Asia Pacific executive team members into our advanced facility – all in time to celebrate an important milestone. Right now, all 114 metro and regional stores across Victoria and South Australia are receiving deliveries direct from Melbourne Distribution Centre – moving fast towards reaching 100% transition. As a global business, connecting with some of our Genuine Parts Company leaders in Melbourne Distribution Centre was a rewarding experience all around. We relished the opportunity to showcase how our distribution centre of the future keeps going from strength to strength as we keep the world moving. In 2017, GPC expanded its operations to a new continent by entering the European market through the acquisition of Alliance Automotive Group (AAG). AAG’s story began in 1989, with the acquisition of a small distributor in western France, which led to the founding of the company. AAG has a strong track record of growth and has transformed its business from a small local business to one of the leading auto parts distributors in Europe, covering four of the continent’s largest markets. Since the acquisition in 2017, AAG has continued to expand its geographic footprint and now has operations in nine countries across Europe including the UK, Ireland, France, Germany, Poland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain and Portugal.
