  • It's becoming harder to decipher the signal from the noise - no matter what we read/hear. Climate is no different - lobbying, politics, unethical corporate behaviour coupled with sensationalist social media are some reasons that mis/disinformation is rife across the space. This is why this episode is so important. We spoke to Chris Cooper, a disinformation expert and Co-Founder of Research & Action Hub, who sheds light on tactics used, highlighting examples; from the Australian Liberal Party and use of Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAFs). Hear Chris speak about: ➡️Shift to climate delayism ➡️Challenge of 'trustworthy' content and role of social media ➡️How political and lobbying actors dissuade pro climate views ➡️Messaging climate information in response to cultural values The conversation took place the week before a US election. No doubt a timely listen, as the energy transition continues as a political football. 🎙️ Full episode in the comments, and hope you enjoy this listen.

If knowledge and information is essential for humanity's well-being, why has it created so many factions? Perhaps, we should look no further than our greatest collective crisis - climate and its misleading discourse, a big area discussed in my chat with Chris Cooper. Lobbying, politics, unethical corporate behaviour are just some reasons mis/disinformation is rife across the space. Couple that with the manipulative and sensationalist nature of social media platforms, it can create harmful climate policy and transition away from low carbon. We recorded this Greenfluence episode in the week before the US Election, at a geopolitical knife edge. However, regardless of Trump mis and disinformation in the energy transition needs to be tackled. 🎙️ Our Season 7 opener will make you think and question what you hear: ➡️ Concept of climate delayism ➡️ Challenge of 'trustworthy' content and role of social media ➡️ How political and lobbying actors dissuade pro climate views ➡️ Messaging climate information in response to cultural values Full episode in the comments, and don't forget to give Greenfluence a follow and rating!

  • ➡️The intersection of climate, knowledge and trust - how this is framed will have huge repercussions in 2025 and beyond. A brand new season saw us talk to Chris Cooper, a disinformation expert and Corporate Accountability Director at Climate Integrity. Hear him discuss climate delayism, and how it forms our perception. This episode will get you thinking about what you hear, and importantly climate tactics are fed into our communication channels. Full episode out very soon.
