Group 6 Metals (ASX: G6M) is redeveloping the Dolphin Tungsten Project on King Island, Tasmania.
About us
Group 6 Metals Limited (ASX: G6M), previously known as King Island Scheelite Limited (ASX: KIS), is an Australian resources exploration and development company. The Company’s name honours tungsten as Group 6 Metals’ first commodity project (The Dolphin Tungsten Mine) under development, as tungsten is a member of Group 6 of the periodic table along with chromium, molybdenum and seaborgium, as well as being a critical mineral and a geopolitically strategic resource. The Company is focused on the redevelopment of its 100%-owned Dolphin Tungsten Mine located on King Island, Tasmania. Initially the focus is on producing a high grade of tungsten concentrate, however, plans are to value-add the concentrate for supply into the upstream tungsten industry.

The unheralded critical minerals | Group 6 Metals is discussed in the below article from Australian Mining 📰 "Some critical minerals garner more attention than others; some have glossier and more intelligible end uses than their lesser-known cousins. But that’s not to say the antimonies, fluorines, niobiums and molybdenums of the world aren’t important, with equally critical purposes for global advancement and renewable energy development. The same goes for tungsten, vanadium and rare earths, each of which has an exciting future in Australia and abroad," writes journalist Alexandra Eastwood. Alexandra highlights our Dolphin Mine as one of only a few tungsten mines to come online outside of China in recent years, and discusses our production ramp up at the project and cost reduction initiatives, as well as the 'buoyant' tungsten pricing driving producers to be optimistic for the future. Group 6 Metals is discussed in the below article from MiningNews.net — Death metal is more than music: The case for taking war metals such as tungsten, antimony and niobium seriously. Tungsten’s unique properties, such as high density, hardness, and resistance to heat and wear, make it invaluable across a wide range of industries. It is a critical mineral with a wide variety of uses, including in the green transition, energy, military, aerospace, industrial, medical and electronics sectors. The below article focuses on tungsten's military and weapons applications and history of high prices during periods of conflict. "It is Chinese control of the tungsten supplies which is one of the issues which keeps US military planners awake at night and which ought to be reflected in the share prices on non-Chinese producers such as Australia's Group 6 Metals, which owns the historic Dolphin Mine on King Island," writes Dryblower. We're pleased to announce highly encouraging results from ore sorting trials conducted for our wholly owned Dolphin Tungsten Mine, with HPY Sorting Technology. The positive ore sorting trials show potential to improve Dolphin Tungsten Mine output. The trials successfully demonstrated that ore sorting has the potential to: ✅ Increase tungsten head grade ✅ Reduce milling and processing costs ✅ Improve metal recovery ✅ Reduce environmental impact Sorting trials for low grade ore gave enrichment ratios of 2.09 and 2.53, and sorting trials for high grade ore gave enrichment ratios of 1.35 and 1.49. The company will progress further trials and a feasibility study for ore sorting. Read more: https://loom.ly/KSS30vs
